Here's the details: 2008 1125R with 2000 miles. Bike ran pretty darned well with the usually low RPM jerkiness, but I rode around that issue. Not a problem. Figured I'd get the latest reflash. Bike ran great on the way home, low speed driveability was improved considerably. Three days later I install bar risers, 1"drop pegs, new clutch line, new clucth slave from EBR. I find the battery is dead when I hook the battery back up. Battery tender charges it up over night, and I get good strong starting crank, and battery is at 12.9v. Battery is 2 months old, and until this discharge, it had always been on a battery tender. I went riding and at light throttle anywhere from 3800 to 4500 RPM bike seems to miss and stutter lightly. Not horribly, but could definitely be enough to upset the bike in cornering. Really annoying though I tried zeroing the TPS, and it had no effect on running issue. Does the ECM need to relearn anything since it spent the night disconnected from the battery? Any thoughts? Thanks. I was planning on taking a week long trip on this bike starting saturday, but now I am not so sure. |

Strange. Your battery issue could be a gauge cluster problem. The '08s occasionally had that fault. |

I guess I'm SOL if the gauge cluster is bad, my bike being out of warranty and all. Never really had any electrical problems to speak of. Bike has been stored outdoors for several days in a row while on my last road trip with no loss of juice. |

Yep, still doing it. I took it out and wrung its neck for about an hour. Runs great when you're riding aggressively and at WOT. Still bucks at steady light throttle. Didn't do this before the reflash. I'll take it back to the dealer when I get back from my trip. **sigh** |

My 09 cr did this after a dealer reflash early on in it's life (under 1000 mi.) and it eventually went away(learning?). Get an EBR tune to match your favorite pipe and be done with it. I have the Kedart-3 and a tune to match. well worth the money. |

I have an 08 and the last flash I got was almost as good as the EBR race. Ride it on a hot day. Let it learn. I rode mine to Texas in 08 and it ran like shit, but it was sea level and I almost killed myself with the power. All else fails, get a race ECM. Z |

+1 for the race ECM and Keda RT-2. You won't regret it! Forget the reflash, if you can afford it, get the EBR race ecm. (Message edited by father of an era on July 31, 2012) |

Thanks for all the input. Froggy mentioned that it might be a battery issue. It did fully discharge (as in nada juice). And even though it's only a few months old and been on a tender, it may be sub-optimal because of the severe discharge. I will check the stator output, and maybe try a new battery, before I start saving up shekels for the race ecm. |

In the meantime, I made a deal on a new Kawi Versys, and traded in my old Concours. I'm going to miss that old warhorse. |
