So this happened
Here are my mounting points, I've got the y hanger.
I'm going to get the mount welded back on today. I'm looking for some tips to mount the muffler back on with some rubber in the mounting points somewhere. How do you guys mount your vance and hines? |

Dang...I have had to reweld the pipe mount on the very front already, but just had one weld cracked through. This will remind me to check mine again..... |

As you know exhaust flexes a lot with heat cycles. When installing or making changes I always loosen all the exhaust fittings up to the heads, install the new exhaust bit, line up all the mount holes, give all bits a shake to settle into their position, then tighten each point a little at a time. This helps a lot, but yes, I have also had welding done to fix tears. The above procedure will help a lot and I defend it. |

If you're going to fabricate something, make a mount that does not weld to the exhaust. The mount should wrap around the can like a big hose clamp. (Not saying you should use a hose clamp!) |
