I just bought a 2009 Buell 1125CR two days ago and got it registered today. I practiced driving it around my neighborhood, before i got on the highway every time i went in to turn, I would shift to 1st gear, but the bike would stall out, and i have no idea why. I do not have any experience in buells, but i do have previous motorcycle experience. The reason was i bought a Never Wrecked 2009 1125cr, with 8000 miles, for 4,000$ Anyone offer some insight on my dilemma? |

Does it stall turning both ways? What if you downshift and go straight. Are you sure it's related to turning? Is the clutch in or out? Could be the bank angle sensor is out of place, so leaning it over puts it in a kill position, but if you are in first gear in your neighborhood I doubt that you are leaned over very far. |

Do the lights and everything quit or just the engine stalls? Does it idle well and revs out ok? What if you're in neutral and turn the bars from side to side? Just asking that in case there's something messing with the wires from your kill switch. I presume it starts ok and you don't have the battery light on once running? |

Ignition switch/key lock wiring? do a search on this forum - the wiring to the ignition switch have been known to pull out of the circuit board/contacts when the handle bars are turned (lock to lock)...if you're handy with a soldering iron ( small size) you can fix it yourself....test it by putting it on the side stand, put the handle bars as if you're going straight down the road, start the engine and let it idle...turn the bars lock to lock - does the engine stall?= ign switch wiring |

Tip sensor? Are you pretty good at parking lot drills? |

I second ignition switch. Probably wiring on back side is intermittent. You'll need a ignition switch lock release to get it out of there. |

It is neither the ignition switch or the tip sensor. My guess would be fueling or IAC related. |

I had mine do that a few times, also when I was riding straight. Come to find out my battery was getting a bad connection and my auxiliary cord was fried on to the battery. I would say check out your battery connections. |

Ignition switch, when it stalls move the ignition switch wire and see if it comes back on. Just replaced mine last week. |

Forget switch, go with rider error. Slipper clutch takes away most compression braking so it's a real surprise when it happens. Keep the revs up a bit higher and use the clutch more. I'm still working it through and I've got a fair bit of time on bikes. I also do it on straights. Practicing is good. Practice pulling in the clutch and hitting the start button for when you stall on a highway at speed (DAMHIK, but pay attention to your gears when the front car pulls into a plaza and everybody slows down). |
