I have a slightly modified 2004 XB12S and am wondering if I should go balls to the wall mod with it(COSMETIC, ENGINEERING IS SPOT ON). I own a few Buells and fully respect the vision, but am ready for a project. I am asking for opinions for the simple fact that I am having trouble defacing a perfectly good Buell. Yea, I know I shouldn't ask, It's MY BIKE, but Buell owners opinions matter! |

Since no one else has responded: It is your bike, so have at it. If you were to put on an extended swing arm, raked forks, ect, you probably Will get some grief. Paint, graphics, colors and so on are your choice. Try searching around for some of the bikes done by the italian job, a member here. He's done some neat stuff .... |

Lately ive seen some pretty cheap bikes out there, you could find one cheap and even if you modified it, its still getting another Buell back on the road. |

Grab a Blast and make a cafe racer out of it. http://www.crossroadsperformance.com/cp/?cat=20 Scroll down to the orange one. That enough project for you? Since most of the parts have been discontinued or were one offs, it should provide a high level of difficulty to really challenge you. |

Thanks guys. I am looking to do some really custom, basically cosmetic stuff. As I stated above, to me, Buell did it right so no need to change the engineering. @Greg, I have really been mulling the idea of a cafe Blast for awhile. The XBs are a kick to ride but the Blast seems like it would be a great bar hopper, and you can never have too many Buells. |

The Blast would take a lot of work since the frame needs to be created, but it should be pretty fun. |

In the crazy thinking process of making profits (which they did) & building motorcycles it seems that several of these bikes were built. So unless you are going to quit riding it, store it and let your grandkids tear it all to hell and gone.......then why would you not mod it? |
