Hi all, I had an 03 Xbs for about 3 yrs and loved it. I am thinking of buying another but am concerned about the continuing availabilty of parts and service. Any thoughts on the validity of my concern. Thank you. |

Your concerns are valid... Though, new parts should be available for another 6 to 8 years through H/D. Parts will likely go on back order more frequently as time goes on. And, the back orders could take longer to fill. There are always parts to be scrounged on ebay and craigs list; I bought a few parts from ebay. However, people are catching on as to the value of used parts rapidly. So the "good deals" are harder to find. Al at American Sport Bike might have some useful insight to share too. The parts situation is the same as it was when you had your last bike. |

Froggy Posted on Thursday, July 26, 2012 - 03:20 pm: The parts situation is the same as it was when you had your last bike. Yep, pretty much... I've had my Buell since May/06. The local Buell dealer had to order everything except oil filters. To that extent, nothing has changed. |

I've had my 06 City since new. I get the factory parts concern, but actually, there seems to be way more aftermarket choices than before (in my opinion) Look at all the exhaust options out there now. There seems to be pretty good support for a "dead" brand. EBR, Twin, American Sport Bike... The new guys making pipes. Etc. |

Yep, in the last few years we have gained quite a few aftermarket providers. While we have lost some too, I do believe we have a net gain. |

"Look for an 09 new with a target price of $5,000" Are you saying there are unsold new XB's out there? If so, how does one go about finding those? Thanks |

I wouldn't worry about it. I've spent most of my motorcycling life on old obsolete vintage stuff. With ebay, specialist suppliers, forums - I've had no issues keeping this "obsolete" stuff running in the past and have no concerns about the future. I've accumulated 5 Buell's since the "shut down" - shows you how much I worry about it... Get another one and enjoy it. |
