If you short the correct two pins in your communication port with a jack knife and then turn on the ignition without starting the engine, it will flash codes to you. Here is something to get the ball rolling: http://bcrider.com/DDFI.html This is for the old tube frame F.I. but it still works with the new stuff. The new F.I. have a bunch of new codes in addition to this one like the exhaust servo for instance. |

Hey Chris, I live in Hermiston and have ecm spy. I don't have a clue how to use it. The link above shows how to get an older model to display codes but I'm not sure if it applies to your '07. It is on this site somewhere and I have it written down somewhere too but gotta go to work now. If the cause for the code is fixed, it will erase itself in 50 start/run cycles. Are you a member of pnwriders? |

Well I bit the gas bullet and loaded my bike and headed to Renton. There service dept is very nice . A tech named Kevin who is there buell guy hooked it digital tech he cleared 3 historic codes and. But couldnt clear the exhaust servo code . So I thin the servo is bad . I also learned that I probably have an after market exhaust . I thought it was stock . I'll post some pics of it so somebody might identify it. If it has no valve in it I'll just get the dummy load and remove the old cable and servo. |

Easy test for the exhaust servo: take off the outer airbox cover (4 screws) With the engine off, apply full throttle. Now turn on the ignition, the servo on the top of the inner airbox cover should cycle all the way over and back. If the servo motor is missing, I think you found the problem |

It has the servo. And it turns out it was stuck open . I disassembled it and viola when I put it back together it works . Also I suspect the aftermarket exhaust the tech pointed out to me might be a special ops it has two outlets and a functional valve . The light has gone out since the servo is working. Now to get some software and a cable so I can look up the codes as they arise . |

http://pnwriders.com/forums.php This site is cool because it's local. This means that there will be stuff posted from folks near you. There is a section called "central" that's mostly Tri-Cities as well as lots of other PNW sections. You will have lots of opportunities to meet and ride with all kinds of folks on all kinds of bikes. Some even ride Buell! I enjoy it mucho and hope you will as well. Dan |
