Coming home on the 09 CR from a Euro Nite meetup last night, 65 miles from home and the battery light comes on and voltage dropes from 14.1 to 11.0 volts starts running rough and I head back to a gas station I had just passed. Called my daughter to come & pick me up left the bike at the local Dodge dealer for the nite, went back this AM & retreved the CR now home and on the lift and starting to take it apart. just printed off most of the notes posted by others to help me in the repair process. 8,400 miles. |

Are you going to specify the hi temp insulated wire? |

husker...not trying to throw stones with this question...just trying to better understand the problem...here's the question: when was the last time you checked the oil level? and what level was it at? |

Nuts4mc I checked the oil just prior to this ride, that is standard procedure for me when riding any of my bikes. I keep the oil level on the high side but not over filled. I always keep my bikes on battery tenders when not riding also. The stator had the same crispy coils as shown in the photos of other stators. I did not bother to take a photo of it since it is the same as the others. I don't think that it was damaged just on this ride it appears as though it had been getting overheated over time, they installed the bypass harness when I had 2,200 miles on it and now I have 8,400 miles on it. It is my belief that if you have a 2009-2010 R or CR with the stock stator it will fail on you at some time no doubt in my mind unless you take the step to replace the rotor with the cooling oil hole. |

husker thnx - looking at the other post with pictures - tbandit has summed it up very good - i have an '08 but it's HOT where I live - might try adding some "paddles" to my rotor to fling some oil at the case cover - and pull some heat away from the windings...thanks for the quick response. |

If you have an 08 I don't think you will have a problem since you have the 18 pole stator and it has a lower output than the 09 and 10 1125's. If I could have found an 08 stator & rotor I would have chosen that over what I am doing, just ride that 08 & enjoy. |

Received my EBR Rotor, new gasket and rotor nut last week and placed my order for the locking tool this morning. Ricks Electrics is shipping my stator back tomorrow when I receive the stator I will have everything on hand to reassemble and go riding once again. |

Are you still using the stock regulator? Does anyone have the specs for the stock regulator? I don't think it's up to the task of regulating the power from the 09 stator. |

Well got it all back together this afternoon everything checks out OK. EBR Rotor, Ricks High Temp wire rewound stator good to go for the next 200,000 plus miles. |
