It's time for a new rear tire for my '09 1125R. I was pleased with the stock Pirelli Diablo Corsa III and the handling, however my HD Dealer (Canada) said they can't track down the same tire. They have suggested a Michelin Power Pure as an alternative. Looking for recommendations/suggestions or experience with the Michelin. The majority of my riding is street/highway. |

Those are discontinued. I went to the updated Diablo Rossa Corsa, but have since switched to the Dunlop Q2's. I think they are the best bang for the buck. However, if you are flat tracking it mostly, neither tire is going to hold up long Maybe the standard Rossa Corsa |

Q2s are great but theyre not gonna last long for highway riding go with sport touring tires like pilot roads 3's (2's are still available and are usually cheaper -theyre just as good), pirelli angels, or bt023s. they last for 5K+ miles and will still have plenty of grip if you decide to get frisky in the curves (Message edited by chessm on July 08, 2012) |

BT023's ....got over 7000 on my rear and they are great wet or dry and feel just as grippy for normal riding as the corsa 3's |

How aggressive is your riding, and how much rain? If it's aggressive, I'd say the Q2s are the best option. I was getting 6k commuting miles out of them, but I'm not exactly hard on my tires. If it's not "knee down" pace, I'd suggest the Road 3s. They're great in the wet, great in the dry, and last a long time. If you're going to Road 3s, I would do both the front & rear at the same time - they're a good bit different from the stock Corsa IIIs. |

My first choice will be the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa, fantastic tire, 2nd would be the Pures, do not like the Q2's at all. Bridgestone 003 nice tire but wears out fast |

I've had Pirelli Angels on mine for a few thousand miles, and they've been great thus far. |

I've had my angel rear on for 6000+ miles now. I don't ride super aggressive but I love corners. But since I've moved to Nevada and work in susanville,ca it's mostly straight roads and 72 miles one way. |

don't run the pilot road 2's, I ran them and anytime i would go over 100 mph i would get head shake. I had them at the right PSI and the bearings were good. I would recommend the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa. Or the Michelin pilot power 2ct's. (Message edited by dktechguy112 on July 09, 2012) |

I've got grippy backroads around me and go through rears in under 2500 miles or less so I've tried a bunch of them and overall liking the Bstones 023 the best. |

I would stay away from the pures if you are mostly street and highway. I had the Rosso Corsa and got 5K miles out of it almost all of it 2up. I just went to the Pilot Power 2CTs not so far I really like them not sure on the wear yet though. The Pilot Powers are usually $200 per set |

Pilot power 2CTs FTW They are more of a V shaped tire, and the bike will drop in quickly. |

I will second the Pilot Power 2CTs. I think the bike feels much better with them than the original Pirellis. |

I also recommend the Pirelli Angel ST. They last forever, feel great, and have excellent grip in the wet and dry. The Pilot Power 2CT is great if you like headshakes, wrong speedometer, and sliding around enough to kill your confidence. |

> The Pilot Power 2CT is great if you like > headshakes, wrong speedometer, and sliding > around enough to kill your confidence. Is this on a CR? When I put them on, I didn't like them at all. But after I raised the front of the bike, I became a lot more comfortable on them -- to the point that Saturday I was using my CR to teach at a track day school, and I assure you no one in that class thought I was slow. Raise the front so only 7-9mm of fork tube shows above the OEM top triple clamp. I run the pressures at around 30/30 for track day fun. |

Yes CR, but every other tire works fine without screwing around with my forks, and that still wouldn't fix the speedo being 8-10mph off at highway speed, vs 0-2mph on others. Oh yea, forgot to mention the life wasn't great on it either. |

Ask a question about tires - like oil - and you'll get an answer recommending just about every model and brand. FWIW, I just put a set of Pilot Power 2CTs on mine 2 weeks ago. Mostly because: 1. I found a place to get them for $238 for the pair and 2. I had good impressions from when I got an original set of Pilots (predating any Road/Pure/Power designations) on my RF900. Like them a whole lot better than the stock Pirellis, but it's only been about 300 miles so far. Turn in seems much better than stock . Or, maybe it's just the old ones were too worn out? Still have the RF and ordered up a set of Pilot Powers for it yesterday. Too much tire for the bike, but for $205 delivered and the miles I put on it, anything else would age crack before tread wore out. Not sure if the website is a sponsor, so PM me if you're interested where they came from. |

I'm not defending the 2CT, but the bike doesn't come set up for them. So, putting them on the bike and not liking them has as much to do with the OEM geometry as anything. I bet if you put Pirelli on my bike set up fot 2CTs, it would steer to slow... Changing brands of tires *without* adjusting the geometry is the error. ... and what are you doing looking at your speedo? You crash that way, you know... |

I just put the pilot power on last week from the pirelli corsa. They grip well especially in turns. I am pleased with them but not sure with tread wear yet |

I ran the Pilot Powers and liked them, 6k+ of wear and great grip, but the front wore really funny, started cupping a LOT the last 1k of wear on the rear. Put the Angels on now, and they are ok, but I have spun the rear quite a bit and think I will go with something with more stick next. |

Cutty did you make sure to check your tire pressure regularly? I know when I don't and they fall too low is when my tires cupped on my Corsas |

Yeah, ran 2 sets and had the same issue with both. Ran 36 psi consistantly. |

I recommend the Bridgestone Battlax S20! I am on my second one. Price is comparable to the Michelin 2ct, but I got close to 3700 miles on this S20 and only about 3000 on the 2cts. I also had the pilot road II, that thing just slid around way too much to be comfortable on, and the mileage was comparable to the "hyper sport" tires very disappointing for a sport touring tire. The Michelin 2ct feels a bit better at first due to the steep angled profile, but it wears quicker and once that happens there goes the feeling. Hope this helps.
