Not very easily. The bearing bores are machined slightly differently for the different bearings. At the least you would have to modify the counter shaft and figure some sort of spacer for the main output bearing. From my transmission swap experience, the cases with the helical trans. have thicker flanges for the main output bearing and the left counter shaft bearing to help support the higher thrust loads. |

it's hard to find here in Switzerland ( or Europe ) an engine at a decent price but buying on US ebay cost a little bit in shipping |

I do not know exactly. update my XBR 1169 big bore that has a gearbox with a lot of miles or rather build a new engine for my 05 XB9SX that has many kilometers in the whole engine. I think I'll rather go to a 1250 DDFI-3 |

Maybe contact "Easyrider" at Twin motorcycles in Holland. They are badweb sponsors. Or try Matt (aka Trojan on this board) Trojan Horse in the UK also a badweb sponsor. Both places are very good. Personally, I would not use the helical gears in a high performance engine. I know some very good transmission people in the US, but I am sure it would be expensive to sell and ship all the way to Switzerland. (Message edited by fast1075 on July 02, 2012) |
