You will want to add a spacer behind the fairing on the lower right rear mounting screw. I used a longer screw, and a 1/4" spacer. It keeps the fairing pushed out off the engine just a hair. You also want to add some of your own insulation on the spot that they have factory peel and stick insulation. I used the metallic duct tape from the local hardware store. If you don't do these two tricks, the exhaust pipe will touch and melt the fairing. The spacing and factory insulation are not enough. Keep in mind, the fairing probably pushes a little closer to things with a wind load from riding. |

Definitely need to do something on the right side. Based on what I thought I read here, I did the spacer on the right front, but also, and more effectively took a crow bar and bent the front bracket out some. Have tons of clearance on this bike. My 08 I only did the spacer and it was still close. |

Ya know what? It might be the front right screw that gets a spacer. I don't remember. Hmmmm. Well, the point is that it will touch and melt if you don't space it out just a hair by spacers or bending brackets. My back up plan if it ever does melt is to cut a hole on the spot it melts. I would try to make it similar to the left side hole. |

Thanks for all the input. i have it spaced out but also have my headers wrapped so that should help. might be a problem with my 2010 though. i cant seem to find mounting points for the rear bracket on either side. |

thanks sprintst. looks like that is what i needed. The fairings are in good shape but the white vinyl wrap needs to be redone...with some EBR race graphics i think. once installed i will take some pics and upload. thanks again all. Tim |
