I replaced the drive belt on my '06 Uly last night. Came apart and went together smoothly. Just a little concerned about the tension on it. It seems awfully tight. Any words of wisdom or tension specs I can consult? Thanks! |

It'll stretch! Was your old one broken? If so I'd put a few thousand miles on this one and then put another new one on and save this one for a spare to carry on the bike. It's so much easier to put a pre- stretched one on, especially on the side of the road! |

Funny you should put it that way. I'm leaving Thursday for Virginia. The old belt is not broken but has 22k on it. Thought it would be much easier to change it in the garage. Put the old one in the pannier and save it for a rainy day. (Message edited by auapaul on June 26, 2012) |

Good plan right there, might have read something about that somewhere else before. Doing the same with mine at 18k miles as soon as I need to replace the tires. |
