What a great pre-first day. Loren and Meribeth are very gracious and skilled at hearing cats and Loren's skill at a grill is unmatched. So I was just in Rogers, AR Mon thru Wed this week. Bummer I couldn't stay to see everyone. Didn't have a bike either. If anyone has time and is into Civil War stuff there is the Pea Ridge National Military Park about 30-45 minutes from Rogers. I suggest it, beautiful place with preserved battlefield and beautiful overlook. Just take 540 North from Rogers to Highway 62 either East or North, can't recall. if you're up for the ride I highly suggest eating in Lampe, MO at Rogers Corner Drive In. Veteran owned since 1980.I drove past, saw that and turned around to go have the "Famous" Half Pounder. I took a couple one lane bridges, and some beautifully twisty roads to get there. Don't forget to stop in downtown Bentonville to get a photo of the original Walton 5 and 10 store. While in Rogers, you must eat at the AQ Chicken House as well. All ride safe, enjoy the weekend. |

Lynn and I are escaping the heat in a very little town grocery store. It is over 100 today. Our goal is Dodge City but we may stop in Pratt. I will post later. After we got backing the road Lynn's XB died in Wichita, a lot of traffic of course. It was ideling very rough then got better so we pressed. This heat is very bad. I was hoping that my windshield fix with a stick was the only glitch today but we are safe and still on the road. Thanks James the HD shop was NO help but you saved the day. Frank |

Frank, glad you got going again,DDFI doesn't like stop and go traffic in the high heat. My S3 did the same Friday afternoon in downtown Rogers which is why I parked it for the day. Saturday morning first thing took it for a 30 minute ride so the ecm could relearn/reset and it ran perfect the rest of the day and on the ride home this morning. Ride safe |

104 was the norm in towns that had the temp displayed. Lynn did not feel well so we stopped. She got some fluids and was good enough to push on. We are in Dodge City KS right now. Nice hotel room and AC of course. All in all the break down and repair took maybe an hour or so. Time for shower and food. Jack, I hope you are able to post more pics soon. Ride safe everyone. Frank |
