As you run out of gas, your computer tries to compensate for the reduced fuel by altering the mixture rich. Now you have a good flow of fuel available to the bike, it's too rich. I suggest riding it on the highway for a few miles and see if it just clears itself up. I ran into this problem in my first year and have learned to not run it out of gas for this reason. Sometimes it can be rich enough to foul the plugs. |

A quick way to clear your ECU's mind is to take the battery cables off and touch them together a couple of times ... In 50 miles it will re-calobrate its self to the way you ride ... |

Disconnecting power doesn't clear out the ECU's memory. My 1985 Honda CRXsi old primitive fuel injection did though. I used to have to make the engine light go out by erasing the ECU from time to time. Sorry train of thought derailed. |

Tubers and early XB's did not like running low on fuel and you have skewed your AFV ,probably a bunch! As soon as the fuel light comes on we stop tuning and refill. |
