Hello Gents, I have a 2004 Buell XB12s. I was on a ride sunday hittin up the canyons. Stopped at a gas station on the way back and when I started it up the engine light came on. The code says open or shorted fan wire. I started my trouble shooting at the ecm. Where the manual says its wire G6. I put my testing lead on there and triggered the fan manually through ecmspy. I didn't get any voltage from that wire. That should be the voltage line going to the fan correct? Theres two wires that go to the fan. Orange/Black and Yellow/Brown. My understanding is I shouldn't have contunity through the fan and I should be getting a voltage through one of those wires to the fan correct? Is there anything else I can check to diagnose my problem. |

Sorry can't help you with the 04 model. My 08 fan gets + 12v on y/bn 1 directly from a dedicated 10 amp fuse in the fuse/relay box . The ECM switches ground on J2, pin2&pin3to a common wire on BK/O2 to the fan negative lead. husky |
