Pull both plugs. If they are not new this year, replace them both.

Make sure your plug wires are pushed in all the way, both the plug boots and the coil boots, both ends.

Mine did that when the plug wire came off the coil boot, so Two Seasons speaks the truth here...

Re the bike stand: Based on suggestions made to me here, I got a piece of 1/2in bar stock at the hardware store. Put it through the rear axle, and support the ends on frame stands, cinder blocks, ect. Makes a nice, stable platform for service work, esp the things you are looking at here.

And yeah, a careful check of the plug wires is a good place to start.

Got a 2001 cyclone makes loud ticking noise was told by the previous owner it had a sticky lifter so I pulled it apart turns out one of the lifters was collapsed so ordered a new one let em soak over night put it back together and it still makes the same noise. If I let sit over night and start it up it doesn't do it but when you get on it and ride it after about 15 min it starts up and just gets louder and louder. Thinkin it's a bad oil pump or clogged oil line. I'm not a mechanic do I don't know. Somebody please help me!

Another option for the bike stand is to turn the passenger pegs upside down and put them on jackstands. I'd suspect your cam position sensor if the coil checks out okay. Buy a service manual; there's one posted here for a similar bike.
