I have a Buell Blast 2000 with 12k miles, purchased it last year. I have no problem starting the bike when it's cold, but after i ride it for 20-30 minutes (and park it), it won't start again (even when i let it cool down for 3-4 hours),everytime i try to start the bike (Kick stand up, clutch engaged and neutral gear) i hear a super fast clicking sound and the clutch cable gets VERY hot. The person i bought it from told me it was a known problem, gearing the bike on the first speed and moving the bike forward and back a couple of times seem to help, but not always. Any idea on what i should do to fix the issue? Thanks for your help! |

Concur!!! If the clutch cable is getting very hot it's a ground problem. Check the ground strap that is directly behind the plastic clip that holds the clutch cable. It's also near the horn and attaches to the "Do Not Remove" bracket on the front of the head. The other ground is on the battery to frame. The clutch cable is acting as a ground strap/wire. |
