What "IF" one of the rocker box umbrellas was in the wrong place? |

What do you mean wrong place?? Did it get installed on the under side?? If it's not in correctly then oil wouldn't drain out properly and could come back out the breather system. |

no thats not what I meant. I did my rocker box gaskets last week and when i replaced the umbrellas I pulled the old out and replced with new where the others were, but thinking back now, when I did the front box the umbrella was in the far forward position. Correct me if in wrong, but shouldnt they both be toward the inside of the boxes? (Message edited by ustorque on June 19, 2012) (Message edited by ustorque on June 19, 2012) |

I think you want them to be at the lowest point to help drainage. But i cannot remember right now.I am at work and have no manual here. |

If i recall the manual did not picture the placement but made mention of the umbrellas being installed on the intake valve side. Guess ill crack the FSM open again when i get home, I did do a 150mi ride on sunday and the bike ran great. just curious if anything bad will come of it. |

Torque if you installed the center section with the valve far forward then yes you have made an error and it does need to be installed as you indicate they are placed ajacent the center ( intake ) |
