...everything has run way over the "projected" time.... Lots of little things that "should" have taken a few minutes, went on and on. Having just been through this identical exercise myself, I can identify. Just yesterday, I took mine out for a "final" shakedown before the Arkansas trip. Wouldn't stay in 2nd gear. Pulled the clutch and the little retainer that bolts into the end of the countershaft had backed out--I must've forgot to torque/loctite it. Seems OK now, but who knows what other gremlins I left in there? I've only got about 150 miles on this new motor--I'll be the slow guy at the back of the pack... Go, Jack, go! rt |

Don't get fixated on Arkansas. Do the bike right is more important... Screw that! I want to see and hear that beautiful beast! Just kidding! If you can't get it time safely, I guess we can tolerate the Road King... |

Jack - seriously think about this run. Southwest and Midwest are hot hot, you are what, 1900 some miles away and tomorrow is Tuesday and the bike hasn't been started yet. It's okay to skip a year. Not worth killing yourself over to get there. Shane |

wow, what exhaust is that? If I recognize the stamping on the side I would guess it is a Supertrapp Pro Series with the enclosed discs |

Just got the computer fired up...heres the "last" update for a while...... This is the catch can, mounted just behind the tail piece. You can unscrew the drain plug, with tail piece in place. Last pic I took on Monday......... Jim got it running, but thought it unwise to bolt the rest of the body parts on and me take off for a muli thousand mile "test run" across the country. So Tue around 2 pm....... I headed out on the Road King..........rode 30 hrs. straight..........cept for a 2hr stop in NM to get a new rear tire........and am here in Erick OK.........(maybe named after Erick Buell)............see you guys tomorrow.......... the bike will have to wait till next year................... Ride safe.Jack |

Hi guys.....thanks for the interest. Bike is back..has been for a while. Runs and has about 3 miles on it. Took the dash off to replace the plastic holder for the turn signal, oil ect. lights. Ordered new lights as it was apart....(did not realize you have to cut and splice each bulb)......Too late now. Still have to get the exhaust sorted out. Has the original on. Will have to get a custom built header to use the late model 2 1/2 inch set up and retain the S2 look and heat shield. The S1 pipe is too close to the air filter and I do not want to put a round filter one on or tilt the stock one. Bike is about 40 miles from here and I have been super busy......so it is a slow go. I have plenty of time till next year. Ride safe....Jack |
