Too nice of a day to stay at work, so I'm heading out to Lonesome Pine for the night in the Targa w/top off. Pat's in CA with relatives. FB&D, stop by for a cold one if you get a chance! Later!!
Nice but we had a K-town night out on the town. Not the regular night on the town mind you, instead of McDonald's and Walmart we splurged for Pizza Hut and Lowe's.
Okay, I think the Porsche may have given you a slight advantage.
Fb1 - I think the map above is to Mexican Time. Say hello to Jose' for me.
Carlost, that map is the day you 'n me rode together for ten hours and covered just 70 miles!!
(Speaking of, I took Prior, Heather and Denise down Belcher Mountain Road last Sunday. We all survived. Remember that neat old farmhouse near the top with the beautiful lake nestled in the trees? Just as gorgeous as ever. We all stopped and shut off the bikes (just like you and I did), and sighed in unison (just like you and I did).
I visited briefly with Señor Cuervo several times last night, but I gotta be real careful around him anymore - I'm (trying to be) a kinder, gentler (and smarter) Ferris Bueller these days....
FB&D, thanks for the company. Hanging with you two and the spirited run down Orchard Gap Rd. made it all worth the trip. Stopped at Lover's Leap Wayside and soaked it all in. Beautiful morning up there. Will be back soon!
A fine road and beautiful house. I believe that is the only road I have personally ridden that the banking in the corners was greater than most NASCAR tracks, not like you could take them at speed on the bikes we were on.
I made the comment to Twig the other night that going downhill on Belcher Mountain you almost have to "jump" on some of the corners like a snow skier would navigate moguls.
Just wanted to drop a line from Afghanistan and tell everyone hello. Ride safe this summer, we need to have a get together when I get back. Now that the babies are getting a little bit older I should have a little bit more time to ride.
Went to Greenville today saw an XB in the back of a pick-up truck. The owner happened to work at the restaurant where we had lunch. I asked him if he knew about BWB. He had no idea there was a Buell forum. He said he rides with another guy who has an X1. I gave him a card with my info and BWB/C3. Maybe both of them will pop onto C3 and introduce themselves. In my haste to get back to my ride, I didn't catch his name, doh!
Hope everyone is doing well. Maybe we can get together for a ride soon.
Quick Heads Up... I have signed up with another rider to take the BikeSafe class in Durham again on September 14th... there are still 8 spaces left in this particular class... if anyone is interested, please check it out. I know that Jim R, Brankin and Webe took it last year, and seemed to enjoy it... it would be really cool to get more Buell riders to sign up!
