...Have you gotten out of your 09-10 stator? My first stator went at 5,500 miles due to a bad install of the charging harness that fryed the VR and caused the stator to fail. Replaced the three and I have been riding about every day since then with only a bad relay in the harness that was replaces at 14,100 miles. I now have 17,600 miles on my 09 1125CR (thats 12,100 miles on the stator and VR) and put on average 50 miles on it per day. Still charges at 12.x-14.x volts (lowest i saw was 12.3V yesterday because of some traffic and it being 96F out but once i started moving went back up to 13-14 volts. So I'm just curious if anyone with a 2009-2010 1125 had gotten more than this out of one stator and VR. |

Marty Estes from Motorcyclist magazine had a CR for a year test and he returned it back with 11000 miles. No stator problems reported by him. And he had no harness fix. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/howto/doing_time /122_1007_2009_buell_1125cr/ |

My CR is on the original stator, and to the best of my knowledge (bought the bike with 7k on it) the original VR as well, at 12800 miles, still charges at 13.6-14v, unless single-phasing. I just put the EBR rotor on, and the stator looked to be in fairly good condition, so hopefully I'm not jinxing myself posting this. |

Mine died around 17200 miles. Ride back from San Simion, on highway 1. No slow speeds, all pretty spirited. Original everything. thank God for an extended warranty |

I have 15,000 miles on my warranty stator with harness disconnected. I put 3.45 quarts of AmsOil every 1000 miles with a new filter. |

3.45quarts!?!?! isn't that a bit much? i don't fill it over 3. I do change the oil every 2,000 with a new filter tho. Why did you disconnect the harness? |

the battery light kept coming on, the bike ran like s^&t in this low voltage state. I have read several posts here where using additional oil was viewed as a heat dispersant. The crankcase vent at the throttle bodies shows no signs of puking. |

I always heard that over filling would cause pressure to build up in the case and could do damage to the seals but as far as heat, it makes sense because with more volume it will take more time to heat up, but it's just odd how on both sides, you not running the harness and more oil, and me with the harness and recommended oil, as well as crabby who got an amazing 17,000 out of stock. |

The 1125 takes different amounts of oil for different years. Why change the oil every 1k? If u are going to change that often, why use amsoil? Its wasted if u change it that much. |

My first stator went at about 5k and was covered under warranty. I then melted down the relay of the current reduction harness on the day I rode 1050 miles to Key West with ambient temps in the high 90s, that was at about 16k miles and my second stator just went at 24k. So with the harness installed I got 19k miles (not nearly enough). I'll be putting it back together with an EBR rotor and probably upgrading the VR. I change the oil on my bike according the the service intervals which is 10k km or about 6,200 miles. The amsoil I drain out feels very good and looks decent. The downside to changing a filter to often is that the filter does not work as well. As filters load up with particles the flow rate can be reduced but the positive benefit of an aged filter is that it filters smaller particles than a new filter due to the "cake" built up on the surface of the media. |

last 2 posts, THX Guys! My S1 would kill it's oil in 1,000 miles, so I just didn't think about it too much. I'll change oil and filter at 2K miles now. |

On my second stator with around 6000 mi.. I have driven about 500 mi. On present one. Voltage ranges from 11.3 to 14.2 with best charging around 4250rpm. C.temp doesn't seem to effect charging volts until approximately 40 minutes of run time then harness seems to work more/harder? When I put it on tender it says fully charged. I usually keep revs around 4 to 5k just to stay in power band even before harley said to do so. It would be nice to chug along for high mpg. |
