oh now come on moderately talented. Sure he didn't write the songs but the man could sing and I mean sing and perform. yes he died...and yes on the toilet and yes constipated and all that. he is so dead it ain't funny. if he was still alive he'd be a mass murderer of all those bad imitators making money off of him edited by buckinfubba on January 08, 2004 |

I grew up listening to my mom play Elvis. I was literally stunned the day his death was announced. I have a shitload of his CD's & just bought the new compilation they came out with about 2 months ago. Have made the pilgrimage to Graceland..pretty cool to see, but very very tacky in todays world. |

damn it of all people I am not supposed to have any agreement with you come in and screw it up. we have a family joke. in 1962 my mom worked for RCA records in INDY and Elvis visited in early aug. well my mom thought the man walked on water and all that. sure she was married at the time and stuff but hey once in a lifetime stuff. she got to meet him and show him around a little. well anyways I am born on april 3rd 1963 and we all know elvis colored his hair black like his Idol dean martin. Elvis was a blonde hair blue eyed son of god. well anyways you see the connection. I am one of his illegit babies I believe. mom swears no its not true but I get this errie twitch in my leg when ever I hear music that moves me. oh well guess that means I can't ever have a shot at lisa marie cause she's my sister!!! |

People can diss Elvis all they want. Fact is that guy was a true blue american & lived every mans fantasy. Even when it came time for war he could have shirked his responsibility & gotten out of it, but the man enlisted & did his time. Kind of funny how when he died his estate wasnt really worth all that much, I think I have heard the figure of $5 million floated around a few times, yet because of Priscilla & the team she used they have not pushed it into the hundreds of millions. |

I dont know if I would use the word squandered. I mean the whole essence of our time on this planet is to enjoy the small miniscule amount that we are allowed. Why spend your whole life busting your ass, squirreling away ever nickle for that rainy day that never seems to happen. And then when you die, it gets left to family members who squabble over it & it just creates friction. You make money so you can live life & enjoy it. I say spend spend spend, because you arent going to get a 2nd chance. Whats the worst that happens? You die broke? Oh well, you arent any worse off than the poor sap who dies rich except he gets a fancier box. edited by dynarider on January 08, 2004 |

Happens to a lot of the rich & famous. Get a shitload of money & fame, next thing you know everyone is your buddy. Kinda like when you own a truck & you're always someones bestest friend when they need to haul something If you cant fuck your friends, who can you fuck?? |

I really should not be releasing this information... and should use the anonymous feature... but the information source would be so obvious due to my employment... but I must first ask you all to raise your right hand and repeat after me. "I (state your name) swear or affirm this information with be held in the strictest confidence." Everyone finished? Ok... here are the facts. Elvis IS NOT dead! He is in the federal witness protection program. Actually... he and Jimmy Hoffa share a condo and run a Honda dealership someplace near the West coast. It's true... I am from the Government... and we would never lie!

"lived every mans fantasy"is not a criterion for greatness. "I mean the whole essence of our time on this planet is to enjoy the small miniscule amount that we are allowed."Raw, self-focused, hedonism. If there is any meaning in this life it must certainly go beyond personal enjoyment. |

I'm also from the government. Jimmy Hoffa was ground up for dog food in a plant in Florida. Elvis is worm food. Now as for Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden, I can only hope that they receive equal treatment. Soon. |

Raw, self-focused, hedonism. If there is any meaning in this life it must certainly go beyond personal enjoyment. Nothing wrong in that. You only live once, enjoy it. Oh wait I meant "I want to suffer so that all of the poor & hungry in the world will be happy". Sorry but Im not competeing in a Miss USA pageant. |

I've always thought Elvis was over talented and under managed. Tom Parker was even weirder than Elvis. If The King were still alive today he'd be hanging MJ upsidedown over a balcony. Long live The King! |

might i point out that today (yesterday? damn stayed at the bar too long) is not Elvis' b-day. It's my effin' b-day. The fact that I deign to let Elvis (saw him at the kwik-e-mart - he's says hey to Dyna) and David Bowie share my birthday says a lot about me as a person. Oh, and what Paul said. WHY!!! |

When I was growing up as a teenager(late '70's), I always thought of Elvis as some overblown niteclub act(which by then, he was). It is only in the last five years or so, that I've really come to appreciate his talent. The man could flat sing. |

Awwww, Come on guys. It's plain and simple. Elvis was a "Chick Magnet." If we wanted Chick's back then we had to put up with Elvis. Sing? Yes, but with a lot of dud songs. Act? No way, you paid to see a singing "Chick Magnet," not an actor. |

elvis was moderately talented on his BEST day . . . after he left Sun, it was downhill at a high rate of speed . . . his management may have been even worse (by today's standards), but Elvis had about 6 months of good work, 12 month of understandable fame, and decades of necrophilially inspired popularity it's good to be back from vacation . . .. I missed this place |
