Zecca, you are going to need to be come a badweb sponsor if you are going to be selling these for profit. If you are just selling them for the cost of materials you are free to do so. |

Rules? I'd probably buy them under the table if I had to. Just thought I'd ask a question about construction -- am I right in understanding that the basic construction of the protector is kevlar fiber and that the carbon fiber piece on top is just a laminated covering to give the product "the look"? I'm wondering how much the finished unit weighs, in comparison to the stock unit from EBR. I honestly don't know whether the one that EBR sells is 100% CF or if it's also kevlar + CF, or how the weight might differ. Maybe someone who knows more than I do about this can chime in. As far as protection goes, how does kevlar alone compare to CF alone, and is your CF top layer even necessary to provide protection, or is it primarily added for appearance? I'm not one of those guys who care about the bling factor, I just want something sturdy and it doesn't have to look like a CF to make me happy. thanks. |

will be very likely that my caver becomes heavier than the EBR... I dont have a autoclave to extracting the resin excess Kevlar is much more difficult to work, no one can cut it with comom scissors carbon fiber is not resistant to abrasion .. only have mechanical resistance! the carbon fiber is only for "the look" to only kevlar covers, leaving aesthetics aside, it would be cheaper! about 70 look this pic I do not know the name of this tool in English but the abrasion is very strong, easily destroys metal Kevlar can withstand about 15 seconds before drilling carbon fiber becomes practically powder

The tool name in English is an angle grinder. And nice pics to show the difference! Pic=1000 words |

oh yeah cutting kevlar! what fun! I've got "special" scissors for kevlar - cost me £60 a few years back- and it's still difficult. what about vacuum bagging Z ? I'd make a double sided mould and put it in a vacuum bag to squeeze all the excess resin out. |

I like them! Z, have you considered putting the flanged bearings into them that JD had mentioned? they help to protect the kevlar from being chewed up by the bolts. |
