Author Message   Bob_thompson Posted on Saturday, May 26, 2012 - 01:14 pm:        Looks like Danny Eslick is just 7 tenths of a second behind Josh Hayes in practice here at MMP from AMA live timing and Geoff is in 5th. I believe the track is dry right now although I'm 35 miles north of the track and showers are predicted later today and tomorrow and it might be wet for qualifying. V&H XL1200 is just taking the track for practice. It is pretty chilly also with some wind. Hoping the best for our guys. Compared to last year, conditions were much better (as in it's not SNOWING this year). I only recall one crash all day. The 99 and 69 machines looked strong from where we were working just beyond Turn 1. May looked really fast through that section and from my perspective, as fast as anyone through Turn 1-3. With that said, Hayes, Bostrom and Hayden are running two seconds faster. There should be a good battle between those three on Monday. Top 5 finishes from both May and Eslick are certainly reachable. It'll be interesting to see how qualifying tomorrow goes... In DSB, I really like DiSalvo's chances on the Triumph. John Crump (from Calgary) is running his 1125 in Supersport, but only ran a 2:12, which is at least 7 seconds off his times from last weekend. He did pull a 2:09 in qualifying (42nd place). Hopefully he can shave another 3 seconds off so he'll make Monday's race.
