Yeah i just put a bid in for $8,995 for fun and ebay emailed me that i was the high bidder. I really wanted the XB12S, but I figured for that price i could sell it if i wasn`t happy with it and still not loose my shirt. I picked it up last night from the dealer with 12 miles. Its spotless. Its gonna have to sit in the garage until things warm up. |

Its gonna have to sit in the garage until things warm up. That has got to be hell. When I picked up my XB9S last year, it rained the day after I bought it, and rained for two straight weeks. I can't imagine how you must feel. Killer bike! I know you'll love it. As far as mods go, for me it just kinda evolves, not something I really planned out, it just kinda happens. |

thats a damn nice purchase price. i wonder what would motivate a dealer to sell a new bike that low. that sounds like maybe below cost. i dont get it. |

Hey its there business but everybody bitches about crappy dealers and all that. well there ya go. but just they same congrats John you stole it! I hope you didn't purchase anything else from them and give them your money. because they don't care. ahh another day in the buell saga. |

I can`t to ride it yet its too cold and its killing me! The dealer just started selling Buells and i guess are looking of some exposure. They were all very nice and gave me lots of free goodies when i wsa leaving. As for their cost on the bike, i have no idea. I really don`t see them selling a 2004 bike at a loss. Maybe it was close to their invoice price not less. Anyways i`m happy and can`t wait to ride it!

well they did sell it at a loss... But like I said congrats to you!!!! if you get exposure in business by giving things away. that what everyone will want. it just ain't good business. |

How much range do you guys get on that 3.7 gallon capacity fuel tank? |

once broken in and such about 150 or so odd miles of hard riding. you know on and off the throttle. about 130 or so is a safe bet on just normal around town commuting and such. |

Anyone know what one would get at a fairly constant 60MPH? |

Don't know if I am going that slow its light to light...hard to find open road where that is the traffic average in my experience... |

According to Reg Kitrelle he was able to get 65 mpg with a 12 doing 60-65. |

I have an XB9S with race kit and the low fuel light goes on at about 110 miles... with very little variation!!!??? Do the 12s get better mileage?? |

break-in economy on my 12 was 55 mpg. the fuel light comes on real early on my bike. reserve was 1.1 gallon............... yes john got a hell of a great deal on the bolt. very good for him. however i must agree with fubba, not a good move on the part of the dealer. selling at a loss is BAD business. not good for the dealer or the industry. not sure what is going on at that dealership, but it sounds strange. |

That's the second one I have heard of at that price... Great deal. Brian... The reason for the 60MPH question was that I ride with a guy on a '66 Triumph TR6 and he does 60. No more. |
