Over the past few years they have not been re surfacing roads in the UK just filling in the holes. Now they are not even doing that? No money I guess. I hit this hole and it felt deep but the Uly took it with no drama. I had not seen it in time as I was behind a car. I came across this hole again the next day. Before that day I had never seen a hole that deep or rough in a road. Scary? I think the roads will get worse before they get better so its good to have a bike like the Uly that can deal with them. Those extra strong wheels and that superb suspension system is just amazing for those nasty roads and speed humps. |

One of the things that led me to the X from the beginning. I got to really test mine after breaking some ribs in Wisconsin in '07. The roads are rough up there and the Uly sucked it all up to make my ride home tolerable. |

On a Uly, the only 'bad' road is a straight road. |

It's true...I even like keeping my speed up over speed bumps. Just stand up on the pegs a bit and fly! |

Uly_man, Spot on Called "Deferred Maintenance", they spend the money somewhere else, You pay in vehicle maint & accidents. Get used to it, till the people that Win from that kinda of crap get booted from the wheel. What was that Beatles song? "enough potholes to fill the Albert Hall"??? Nuttin New, We be Smart to have Capable bikes, equipped to deal. b. |

Even worse, a straight road with deep soft sand. Oh did my pits insta-sweat this past week when the dirt I was on turn to 1-3" deep fine sand. |

One of my favorite "bad road experiences" was up in northern Massachusetts. I was in the berkshires and I guess a lot of the stone is black and therefore the gravel was as well! I had never come across black gravel before. Invisible on the pavement. Rode through there on my tippytoes. |
