Just got back from a 5 day trip to the Nurburgring. If any of you get the opportunity to go, make SURE you do, there is no place like it on earth, had the best time ever. Bike was a royal pain the ass though, but still got 7 laps in |

I'm sorry guys, it's not that easy anymore, video cameras have been banned !!!!! I had 3 ram mounts fitted and a HD drift cam, but got stopped before I went through barriers, had to remove them. I then hid a small bullet cam inside my helmet, but it was at the wrong angle, all I got was the Tarmac 1ft in front of me, I'm gutted, I did blah a lap in a Audi R8 which I filmed Yes the full road circuit I was on. I will upload it today |

wow! you lucky guys - looks like a great place to go fast - the R8 was flying - did not see any one pass him. Avalaugh - do they "mix" cars and bikes at the same time?...one would think it would be a dangerous "mix"...thnx for the link |

I have never been, would like to check it out. A very dangerous and very expensive place to crash. You are responsible for paying for all damages not only to your car but the track itself and anyone else who crashes as a result of your crash. It can be a lot of money. And yes they let bikes and cars together, they let tour buses on the track! |

Yes it's chaos I had a Porsche Gt3 tear up the inside of me round the carosel, was really surreal, the passenger was looking up at me as I peered down inside the car, best memory for me. My mate crashed his BMW 328is, cost him a fortune but we were able to get an hour at the Nurburgring graveyard to strip it

Had a huge fuel leak develop on day 1, turned out i had caught the fuel pump O rings when i re-installed it after my winter re-fresh, god knows why it had to start miles away from home with no tools, but the good will of the Germans got me through.

Hectic, is an understatement! People die on these public days. If you go be careful! |

Did that 328 have problems with brake fade? I tracked my E36 a few times and brake fade is a real problem with the stock setup. The standard E36 brakes are fine for the street, but they heat up and fade quickly on the track. Just a few hard applications is all they're good for. Definitely not track worthy. What do you mean that you only had an hour to strip the car? |

Av - I didn't notice it earlier. The silver accent at the rim of the rear - painted or polished? Second question - what's the riding surface like? Too cool - JM |

DIY Polished rim The surface for the most part is pretty good Carousel is very bumpy. The E36 328 had yellow stuff pads fitted in calipers from a e46 330 with discs to suit, he just lost it on a bend at 120mph, silly boy didn't but on his other set of wheels, they were in the hotel as weather looked a bit iffy, so went with normal road tyres rather than his race set. |

I made one trip to Germany, loved it and loved the people. I would love to go back and spend some serious time there on two wheels. Great idea for the wheel fix. Did you chuck it in a lathe or something? Or was it a chemical strip of some kind? Nice solution for chipped up rims from changing tires. |
