4 16 hour days of my time is a lot to give, I'm sure it was appreciated and I hope well used. I hope I was able to contribute a lot more energy to the effort than it took to direct me. Being one of at least a couple who had never done this before, I thought the long weekend went well. as time and not money is all many peoPle are able to offer in this economy, than what we have to give is what is offered. Certainly I only expect to give what can be received and hope that Roband Shawn get everything they need to continue racing at an ever increasing level! |

Ray, I might have been taken out of context - you WERE appreciated by Rob - you should have heard him talking about you guys. It's just that having more than 3 skilled folks doesn't help. What's cool about it is that now you know what's up and could be a great help. Without speaking for anybody but myself here, Rob needs consistency and now has a nucleus of crew on both coasts. Brice could pull it together with a few others with experience filling in when possible. Training a new crew at each event becomes unworkable. We've been in smaller AMA Superbike and DSB pit crews and it works best with 2 or 3 at most besides the rider unless you're getting data with telemetry then you need a couple data crew. |

Ray, just to be clear, you were, are, and I hope will be again, fantastic and a huge help!! As was everybody. The truth is, that NONE of us, especially myself, is fully qualified to be a professional crew member... yet. But we are getting there. We are all diamonds in the rough, but diamonds just the same. Steve is right, of course, that 3 professional mechanics, who know the bike inside and out and can take it down and build it up in an hour, would make the pit run like clockwork. Would we get a better result, faster? Probably. Would it be as much fun and full of life? I doubt it. But in order for us to get polished, we have to endure the grit, and examine our progress. There was a point in the pit where something did not go smoothly and I could tell that it was distracting Shawn's focus. After he was on the track, I pulled everybody who was there together and said that we needed to do better, and that we all needed to look for ways to be better for our rider. Nobody balked. Immediately things got more organized and clear. It was great to see. We have no backup; bike, generator, air, scooter, truck, if anything goes wrong or is overlooked, it's a scramble, nothing to fall back on. So that requires precise organization and planning to make sure that everything is where it needs to be, when it needs to be there, and has been tested. That's on me. I could do a lot better. Anyway, as I said before, Hearts of Lions, Backs of Steel. I will be honored to have anyone of you as a permanent member of the team, should we get the funding to afford that. |

Also, a heads up that there are some issues unrelated to racing that may make it not possible us to go to Miller. I hope that we can, I'll let you know asap. |

I will still donate to the team even if they do not go to Miller. It can go for anything Rob needs for the next race he might get to. Michael |

I'm glad I was able to help, and it's a standing offer to help again if you can use me, I would be overjoyed! I know certainly as well as anyone I am no pro, but at least I have been pointed in the right direction at this point. Steve, if I took anything out of context, my bad, one of the dangers of the Internet! I certainly would never expect to replace a professional pit man in any scenario, and of course realize that space is tight in the pit. I had an amazing time, and was impressed to see the steady progress the team was making over the weekend. I just hope that in my exuberance over the weekend, I didn't post too much on bad web or give any info I shouldn't have! |

And let me add, I really found everyone an absolute joy to work with, I was impressed with how well everybody got along, and how hard everyone worked especially considering the pressure, long days, and etc. |

Rob, I'm pleased to continue contributing $$$ to the cause. It's the least I can offer directly. Also, I'd like to buy a Shorai battery for my 1125 as soon as I get the bike back from the dealer. [Humor with a tinge of truth follows] You wouldn't want me in the pit if you were to see me working on my bikes - Keystone Cops in action, I tell ya. Clumsy and uncoordinated, I try not to remember the number of times the bike has fallen over coming off the swingarm stand - I'm an ongoing buyer of mirrors and brake levers from American Sport Bike (but that's a good thing for Al). With fading vision and klutzy fingers, it takes me forever, it seems, to just change the discs on my SuperTrapp. But I don't mind; being retired, I've got lots of time to fiddle with the bikes in the driveway. So, ya see, that wouldn't cut it in the pit. But that's just me. Hope it all comes together for you, Shawn & the crew to do Miller. That would be awesome. I've got a VCR tape reserved for recording that AMA SBK race. Hope to see you guys in it! |

All, I am very sad to announce that we will not be going to Miller. I again want to thank all the members here who contributed support of any kind, and offer a refund to those who contributed funds, but feel that we have not delivered as promised. Please email me at rob@crotchrocket.tv. I am going to take some time to regroup and figure out where to go next. I'll keep you posted. Rob |

Rob, I'm sorry to hear you won't be able to make Miller. I'm happy I was able to contribute to the team effort, even if it was for just one event. Again, I'll say you may have my assistance again if you need me, and wish you and Shawn, and all the others all the best! Ray |

Sorry to hear you won't be there Rob! It was a fun roller coaster ride to cheer you on, nothing wrong with us getting off the cars wanting more. If we hear the ride start up again, we will walk back around and get in line again.

I took over 1500 pictures, so it’s taken me a while to go through them all. If you want any full resolution copies, just let me know. Enjoy Erik Buell Racing AMA World Superbike Miller Motorsports Park |

Fantastic pictures! Thanks for posting those, I feel like I was there! I liked the leather shots as well... we need a new idiom... "Looks like Danny skinned the lizard again!". Of course that only works when is is sponsored by Geico... |

We didn't spend much time checking out the vendors, and just stumbled upon the RS Taichi display. They were in the same tent as the local Ducati dealer. Can't get much better advertising for your product than walking away from a 160 mph crash! |
