When I bought my replacement 08 Uly, it came with this rear rack, which I removed in order to put on my luggage from the 07.
I have all the hardware, I have no idea what the make is, anybody interested? |

Interesting. Does it allow the triple tail to go back? Would it support the triple tail bag facing to the rear? |

Nat, when I bought the bike the triple tail bag was on it, with this rack, and the tail upright. So yes. If you're asking if the tail can be put in it's horizontal position back, I don't think so. |

Jesse - can you comment on the weather the triple tail can go back horizontal or not... I thought it could with that rack but it was pointless because the weight load of the rack far exceeds the triple tail.... here is a link to a few old pictures of that rack on my Uly.... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/370412.html?1216251588 Jesse - no regrets overal ....but when I am in town running around with side cases on , i do fell like a small buffalo ... don't feel a nimble as I once did, but the side cases don't stick out any further than the bars so maybe it is all mental.... like most things.... Glad you still have it and are happy with it... heck also happy your still a Buell owner!!!! And yes, dibs on the rack if you ever sell it.... I LOVE MY BUELLs!!! Cheers- pete (Message edited by 4_pete_sake on May 11, 2012) |

Pete: can you comment on the weather the triple tail can go back horizontal or not... I thought it could with that rack but it was pointless because the weight load of the rack far exceeds the triple tail.... It can swing back horizontally over the rack - I have a plate for the Givi top box mounted on the rack so I cannot say for sure if the triple tail would rest squarely on the rack w/o the plate. I suspect it would though. I use the top box pretty much every time I ride - stow helmet in gloves in it so I don't have to carry them into work. I love my Buell too, glad you continue to enjoy yours, Pete Fun, fun, fun! Jesse |

I believe that was a twisted throttle rack. They can still be purchased for about $225.... |

I have one on mine and yes it is the Fehling rack. I bought direct from Germany but Twisted Throttle sell it in the States. I have a Givi plate mounted to mine and the triple tail will go fully back without touching the plate. You need to be very careful when fitting to get all threads square before tightening. It is very easy to strip the threads in the aluminium Buell parts. I'm thinking of ditching the triple tail and trying something like the Touratech rack that replaces it (though they seem to have stopped listing it). I find the only time I operate the triple tail is te get it out of the way whenever I want to open the top box lid or remove the seat. Nice idea if you ride two up but a pain if you don't. |
