I am trying to recall the last time an American bike was on the podium in the Superbike class. My guess was Pascal Picotte on the Harley VR-1000 in 1998 or 1999. I think it was Brainerd. Who knows for sure, or is willing to dig through the history books, and websites? Jim |

WOW! What a weekend! That was 4 days of hard work and FUN! That is S A T I S F A C T I O N ! I believe Higbee/ Crotchrocket tv finished the weekend on a very positive note and are feeling very upbeat. We all had an amazing time, and I feel fortunate to have played a part in the story, and hope I may have the opportunity to do it again! And what can I say about EBR? Their results speak for themselves, what a class act they have going on there! And the help they gave us, well, unbelievable! |

And don't forget what makes a race team run, if you like seeing an EBR out there besides just the factory team, I'm sure Higbee/ Crotchrocket tv, Shawn and Rob, could use all the support they can get! |

It was a fun time today. The Hero EBR tents really stand out on the grid. The sound of the motors was great. The crowd was really getting into it. Great display of EBR goods. Shirts Bags, Hats, and more. Top quality items. Creative items too. Hayes rode the wheels off of his bike after the crash. He was riding 1/2 of a second to a second faster than anyone else on the track each lap. He was flying. Great weekend. Yes, thanks to J T and S performance for opening their shop and home for everyone. what a weekend. The quail motorcycle gathering, ama superbike races, and the upcoming ASBN meeting on Monday night. |

How quaint! Those blue bikes have the exhaust on the side, like they used to do in the old days!

EBR is getting a lot of positive airtime on Speed. Greg White was pumped about how American bikes were competitive and even Scott Russell was saying positive things about the bikes. The red and white paint stands out, so it's easy to see where the bikes are on the track, especially when they're in a pack dicing for position. I'd say that EBR has finally Arrived with the general motorcycling public. Both riders made the podium this weekend. I wonder which one will be the first to win a race on an EBR? Miller is only a couple of weeks away. Stay Tuned... |

Scott Russell was one of the riders to pilot the Harley VR-1000, along with Chris Carr, Pascal Picotte, Miguel Duhamel, Doug Chandler, Mike Smith, Tom Wilson, Fritz Kling, Jordan Szoke, and Michael Barnes. Did I miss anyone? Jim (Message edited by jima4media on May 07, 2012) |

Pascal Picotte finished 3rd at Sears Point in 1999 on the VR1000 Harley Davidson, and I think he was also 3rd at Colorado in 1999 . |

How many years did that VR program run? Man . . when I think back to the millions of $$ and the size of the staff . . . it shows the problem with "racing by marketing committee" |

Cable went down right at start of race and I recorded "SERVICE UNAVAILABLE, PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER" for an hour. Please let me know if there is an alternate I can use through wireless Galaxy, 4g, 3g etc. I sure do not want to miss this....! Thanks in advance. WAY TO GO Shawn, Danny and Geoff!!! |

The VR-1000 first raced at Daytona in 1994. I remember the year clearly as I was in Australia, and I first saw news about the bike in an Australian magazine. The project may have been going on for years before that, but the Debut was in 1994. I've got a memory like a steel trap. It's rusted shut! |

I finally found a reference to Pikes Peak Colorado, September 19th, 1999, where Pascal Picotte placed 2nd on the VR-1000. |

Tom Wilson finished second in a deluge at Mid Ohio. I remember the race; He was actually leading when the red flag was thrown, but because the results reverted to the previous lap before the race leader crashed, he was credited with second. I'm not sure if it was 1996 0r '97. |

In the future, AMA Live Timing can be accessed by downloading the application for your Droid or Ipad. We had problems with the live feed at the track but the cell connection came through. |

Not sure if you guys have been paying attention to all the publicity that EBR, Eslick and May are getting. The bikes are all over the place in articles and write ups. The gravity of this past race has yet to be felt by EBR and the racing community. |

They did awesome this past weekend. Hayes going down was a gift for Young. Rapp being injured sucks because he was starting to show his face top 5. Hayden got a gift from Herron going away. Opened the door for May and Hayden. They are coming up on faster tracks. We'll have to see if EBR can find some more power they will need especially at RA. |

Here at Millers first guys in a few weeks. We have one real long straight past the start/finish line with speeds approaching 190-200 mph going into turn one but you are not at redline very long. Counter clockwise here. A track which I think our EBR's should do fine. Also I understand that both Danny and Geoff really like it here. Back in 2009 Danny was passing guys on his Geico 1125R to take a 2nd place finish and of course he went on to take the DSB championship. He took a 5th at RA about 1 second off the pace but of course that was DSB. Today its an all new ball game in SB. Even if they do real well its seems like it'll be hard to catch Josh Hayes. He is very fast. At any rate I'll be there cheering all of EBR, Danny and Geoff on including in the pits. Always fun here. Track layout below, outer perimeter only.
