I've heard plenty about other improvements Mr. Buell has done over the Sportster, but what about the clutch? I went for a 100 mile ride yesterday and had forgotten what that clutch pull could do to my wrist with lots of shifting. Another reason why I want to trade my Sportster for an S3T. |

Ducley: SPORTSTER clutch is the same as the BUELL clutch and Mr. BUELL did not up-date it until the BLAST and XB's came out ... The secret is in the adjustment for easy pull release ... Muller soft pull clutch ramp and an XB clutch spring did wonders for my arthritic wrists on my '98 S3T. And, NO the clutch doesn't slip. |

Ive never used the Mullers... Let me start by saying that.. But mathmatically it shows that sure it decreases lever tension... however it also increases the amount of distance you have to pull to disengage. You could use some bigger forearms anyway... |

I had a muller clutch ball ramp in there and it was pure crap! I had it adjusted By both NRHS and JTSperformance And both of them told me it was garbage. I had to remove it because it would not hold in 5th gear. It would slip on the dyno with no weight on it in 5th gear and we had to dyno tune in 4th gear because of it. I had terry call me and ask if it was a new clutch because it slipped so bad. He also tried to adjust it multiple times. Don't waste your money if you are hard on the throttle. |

sorry Prey. I'm going to have to shut you down on that one. Mechanically speaking the actual Muller actuator would have NO effect on clutch in full disengage. It either was improperly adjusted, or your diaphragm spring was not strong enough, or your clutch was worn/plates glazed. Again... this could have no effect on clutch strength. Under no properly installed circumstances. |

Make sure the cable is well-lubed all the way down (very important.) And adjusted right. Then shift less! I put the clutch spring from the Ulysses in my M2 and it lightened it up. I don't hot rod it though. |

I use the Muller Power clutch. No problem at all. I spoke directly with Muller in Germany and they explained exactly how to adjust it correctly and I haven't had any issues in over two years. Same for a friend of mine too. |

I have MRC ramps in two of my bikes.They are similar to the Muller but cheaper. I have tens of thousands of miles using MRC's without a problem.And I do occasionally run them hard. I also have a Uly diaphragm spring on one bike and it's nowhere near as easy as the MRC. (Message edited by buellish on May 07, 2012) |

I have an MRC Easy Clutch "medium pull" and a 2006+ Buell XB clutch spring. The pull is literally "one finger". I don't hammer the clutch or drag race the bike, but have had no issues with clutch slip. It is a delight to ride with a nice light clutch pull. Buell went to lighter clutch springs in 2006 and newer. I got mine from American Sport Bike. Harry |

I just installed the Muller in my '01 S3 and I'm happy with the results. Installation was easy for a mediocre mechanic like me, and the reduced effort is nice. I got mine from American Sport Bike as well. The only issue I have with the Muller is that I can't do two-finger shifts with it using the stock clutch lever since the engagement point is now closer to the bar. I'm thinking about picking up an adjustable shorty lever that can be adjusted a little farther away from the bar to compensate. |

If you have small hands and/or short fingers, you can install KAWASAKI adjustable control levers which will adjust to your finger length ... Just PM me for PART NUMBERS and INSTALL "INFO" ... |

Just installed the Easy Pull. It is just leverage (the lever is longer at the clutch pack now). You have less effort at the clutch handle but the length of pull at the clutch handle is longer to do the same thing. I still don't know if I like it yet. I did it to another bike first. I never really thought the pull was that bad stock and I really like a quicker disengagement/engagement with the factory setup for quicker shifts. I haven't ridden it yet as one of the grandkids is still sleeping. The adjustment is a bit more picky it seemed because of the increased length of pull. I also had to love tap the extension into the existing hook to make sure it mated tight which is fine because it should be snug there. It really was easy though. It is a very simple straight forward design. |

Buell bert, I'd be interested in your opinion after you've had time to use it a bit more. I'm considering one but I understand what you said about the trade of in length of pull for leverage. Not sure if I'd like it either. Of course, anyone else that's using one, I'd be interested in your opinions as well. Also, how does this compare with the Muller in actual functionality? |

I know nothing about the Muller. The Easy Pull seems to work just fine and you will notice right away that it is easier to pull in. It took me a couple adjustments as I like it to engage and disengage about 1/2-1/3 as I let it out. For $34 shipped it is a steal. I could not even fire up the lathe/mill nor spend the time machining the geometry needed. I would say it reduces the pull by about 1/3 or more. I experienced no pulling forward when stopped or jerking going into first, the engagement was positive and shifting thru all gears seemed fine. This is when it is adjusted properly. (I am not, by any means, associated with the company if your going to ask) I will leave it on the other bike for now and continue using it, but the stock M2 (2001) will remain stock for the foreseeable future. |

I put in the easy pull ramp and a Ulysses spring and the pull is nice and light now, for about $60. My only issue is that I have some clutch drag. Doesn't slip at all, though. |

You have to remember that you have a wet clutch and there will be a little clutch drag ... If adjust clutch correctly and adjust the PRIMARY CHAIN correctly you will have a smooth shifting transmission and a clutch that works correctly ... CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT Class 101 and PRIMARY CHAIN ADJUSTMENT Class 101 available upon request, just PM me for copy's ... |

Rather than just adding a longer actuating lever the Muller clutch replaces the whole ramp assembly with a new part and new bearings. shown here: http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6wmx4/id174.html Found this after i got the Muller, less than $40. like a pipe on the end of the breaker bar - I know how it works but prefer the right length bar rather than adding something on top of something else - one piece versus two. I prefer the quick ramp retaining the short pull, than a longer pull. (Message edited by daveswan on May 27, 2012) |

I ordered a cheap ramp that had longer groves cut in for like $35 . It had a slightly longer arm on it too from jp cycles I think. It helped. I would say about 20-25% easy pull and that was with shorty levers. |
