Just bough used 2009 CR 6K on odo w stock ecm and fmf slip on. Having random stalling issues while riding and some trouble starting w/o jump. Took battery for test and was told good. Hooked up to tender I'll start w/ 14+ and riding will drop to 12.3 +/- some. Took battery for test at store and told it was good. Have done extensive reading on forum and looking for help in prioritizing where to start with troubleshooting: ignition switch wiring race ecm updated wiring harness startor regulator? Your help is appreciated. | ||

reset the tps...had the same issues after a new battery. | ||

Not throwing a check engine light. Battery light intermediately comes on. ECM error codes will show w/o CEL or am I talking about two different things? | ||

Not new battery. Original battery had tested as good at Batteries Plus. Also I'll be getting on it for a while and then have a random stall. The high rpm should give an adequate charge even on a weak battery. Note that stall while riding remedied with start button as rolling. The starting issue after stopped requires jump. Bike seems harder than most to bump start. | ||

just to clarify, will the bike restart after it stalls? or does it need to be jumped? | ||

Resarts while I get the riding stall, but if the bike is shut off and sits for only as long as going to eat it will try to start, headlight flashes and almost turn over, but will require jump to start. | ||

Will do that this eve (after I search how to). Assume under the faux gas tank fairing. Just an update. 14.x at start off battery tender. Riding will fluctuate, but at stop light I watch it tick down 12.9, 12,8. 12.7.... So theoretically I'm seeing a bad ground. So having a stock ecm with slip on fmf exhaust shouldn't be doing this right? And its not at start so should I rule out an ignition switch issue? | ||

Sounds to me like the charging system is failing, which is pretty common in these bikes. | ||

when i had the charging system harness update....my bike volts did the same thing..start up 14.x...sitting at a light, especially in the heat...down to 12.x...back up to thirteen whilst rpm past 5k or so...normal! | ||

I am kind of getting the same thing only without the stalling issue. I was told my battery was good but will not take a charge. I'm going to replace it with a new one this week and I'll let u know what happens. |
