Hello, I have searched the boards with no luck. I just put new EBC pads on the front and rear of my 2009 1125r. At low speeds under moderate braking you can hear a tick, and feel some vibration in the front. I used scotch brite to remove what appeared to be a build-up on the disc. It seemed to help the problem some, but came back. I don't notice at higher speed braking but i'm sure it does it there too. I also put on new front and rear tires. I'm going to a track day again soon and hoping to have this fixed. Thanks in advance for the help and have a great day! |

Is it a side to side vibration, or is it a pulsing in the deceleration rate? If scrubbing the buildup off helped, it's probably just uneven pad deposits. Use the brakes properly at the track day and it should take care of it pretty quick. I've also had good luck using brake cleaner while scrubbing the rotor, and you can always use a rotor hone to give it a new crosshatch pattern (and remove the crud on it). |

Thanks for the response. I will try cleaning again. Didn't know how much sanding I could get away with? |

this brake has what i would call a narrow window of temps it works ideally in. to cold and you get deposits to hot and it boils brake fluid. this temp is also dependent on brake pad chemistry. |

My Firebolt's front brake pads and rotors lasted about 20k miles. I replaced both. Same thing with my 1125R. I quit trying to diagnose and fix the rotor, just replace it and be done with it since it's so easy to do. |

If you have the stock factory rotor mounting hardware, check to see if the rotor floats at it's six mounting points, over time brake dust and road debris can build up and cause the rotor to hang up which can cause vibration you feel when braking. This can also occur it the mounting hardware drive bushings are worn. |
