Eric, Great pics as usual!!! Thanks!
Gotta give two thumbs WAY up to Blake Young, what an amazing ride, that kind of launch from the back of the grid was nothing short of miraculous, and then to take it to Hayes like he did was the stuff of legend....
Congratulations to Geoff, Danny and the rest of Team E B R, awesome job this weekend!!!
Bummer to see Higbee broke something again though...
Can't wait for Today's race, and then on to Sears Point!!!

Are the 1190s forced to add weight blocks for the 2012 AMA Daytona and Atlanta races to achieve the rule's weight requirement?

Ours weighed in at 365, very little fuel so we would have had to run a full fuel load, or add weight. Min is 370.

I love Scott's accent. I little hard for this Milwaukee boy to catch at times but fun to hear. Would you guys say it is a pretty typical north Georgia accent?

I also like how excited he gets, sometimes his opinions are wacky but his enthusiasm for hard racing is great to hear. He does not have that professional detachment of the pros.

Yeah, I just had to laugh when he mentioned a few times how "top heavy" the twins are compared to the inline 4s and how much more effort it takes to lean a twin like the Ducati quickly through the esses.

Some twins can be hard to get through the esses, but not because they're particularly heavy. There was a reason Ducati fought hard to try to use the WSB lightweight crankshaft in AMA racing.

Sucks about May. Was really awesome watching him in 5th through the pack before the shifter issue. I missed the saturday race but I heard it was awesome.

Ebr actually got some decent coverage this weekend. I really enjoyed watching these races, not even because of the coverage, just some great racing as a whole. Looking forward to the next race. Sucks about Geoffs shifter, what an odd thing to happen.

Yes, both races were exciting.

What was cool with the second race, was that the top five, of which EBR was a part of, was pulling away from the rest of the racers. I was really excited, thinking that the top five would run off and leave the rest, with the EBR bike moving it up to the podium.

How exciting it is to see a person come into the pits, get work done and still make a respectable showing in the race. Good job.

Yeah; but did you hear Jason Pridmore talking about how the cooling scoop lowered the temp of the brakes 200°?
He was really impressed!

>>>the cooling scoop lowered the temp of the brakes 200°?

The story behind the scoop and the "slots" that do not go all the way through the rotor . . . are an amazing story about engineering and creative thinking.

It's gratifying to see some of the folks who worked on it get the warranted compliments.

Scott Russell was less than impressed. He made a couple of negative comments about.

From Nascar?

Erik told it well on that Craftsmen show. He said that showed the set up to a NASCAR guy for advice and he looked it all over and said something about how it looked OK but he was assuming they had an airscoop and Erik said he told him "oh yeah we're working on it, almost done" and then got one made. The way he told it was very funny; they certainly didn't have one but didn't want to admit it. He was chuckling the whole time he told it.

Russell is always negative toward the twins.

He says they are hard to turn, vrs. the 4 cylinder bikes.
He says that the Buell only has the one brake on the front wheel.

I know he has raced several different bikes, and has won a lot of races, but he doesn't seem to know a whole lot about bikes. it sure is a refreshing change to turn over to world superbike and not hear the accent of Russell. I was born in the south, but he should take some lessons.....

Rex he was was born in Georgia. What would you like him to sound like?? He has won ALOT of races. Knowing the bikes and being able to give proper feedback to crew would be beneficial to winning. I'd say he knows alot. 98% of the field is scratching there heads to the single brake. But then again dual's is all they have known. Its no secret that twins transition slightly slower then inlines. Eslick had the problem when he rode the 1125R. He said it... announcers said it.

Not like Huckelberry Hound at all! HH is known for his slow cadence more than a specific accent. Russell talks rather quickly, in contrast.

People from "up narth" sound equally odd to southerners. Get over it. We all have at least one thing is common. Motorcycles.

And ole Scott has the creds. Give the man a little respect. He is one of a very small group of people that have/had the skills and determination to win.

there was good racing at Atlanta this past weekend!! nice to meet some more of the Badweb there. Ebear takes some of the best photos out there! Walt and the Thrashed Bike team had a rough go trying to get up to speed with the mid pack level racers in DSB which was the team's goal. Sunday was looking better but a dragging front brake heated up and then locked up putting Walt on his head. Luckily Walt is a tough one and ended up only a little sore and the bike is not too bad. we will be making the next appearance at Barber in June and intend on being a little better prepared!
thanks again for everybody's support!!
see you at the races!!

Thanks for updating us on the 221, Tim. I think I'm going to have to plan a ride up to Barber for the AMA races this year. This EBR and Buell racing is really getting exciting. Watching Daytona live/in person fix is wearing off and TV just isn't cutting it.
