While removing my swing arm for polishing I found this l  .Looks like a charging connector to me. Did everyone that owns an XB already know this was there? I really need to get a service manual... or maybe read my owners manual better. Don't recall seeing any thing about. Fuzz | ||

If you can take a pic of how it connects up under the seat I will look at my service manual and double check the routing for you. Also list the wire colors too please. | ||

After taking off the seat it was obvious that this is a charge connection. Fused and wired to the battery. Just had not noticed it.  | ||

There isn't anything in the manual about it being there so it could possibly be a dealer addition. An easy way to keep the "slow moving Buells" charged up while on the floor? | ||

Definitely looks like a Battery Tender connection. If your bike sits for some days between rides, the Battery Tender is a must. It pays for itself after a couple years. | ||

Misato's polishing comes to mind. I think the polished aluminum looks good. It seems to be performing about where I want, so I figured I would enhance the looks a bit. Started with the bracket the other day. Dove into the swingarm today.  Something I thought I would be doing in the winter. It just won't get winter in mid Mo. (Not complaining) 70 yesterday. great ride, even with the 20 mph winds. | ||

FYI, Battery Tender charging leads are not fused. However, accessory connectors for electric vests, etc. are fused. Check the AeroStich online catalog for a list of accessories that use this connector. | ||

Thanks Nevco1. I'll do that. That does make sense. I bought this bike new in Sept. The build date is in Aug. Wonder if the factory had put this on and if all XB's come equipped with it. Not a great big deal, but a surprise. | ||

The Battery Tender connector on my XB9S is fused. I bought it (separately) so both my bikes would be able to be charged (I swap the juice every couple of days). | ||

Most definitely not a stock connector. the newer battery tenders DO come with a fused pigtail. very nice of the dealer to throw that in. | ||

Interesting, the two pigtails that came with my "Battery Tender" and the two accessory pigtails I bought from "Battery Tender" two months ago are not fused. Never looked at a HD Battery Tender as I could not stop laughing when I saw the price long enough to open the box. I swap the juice every few days as well. X1 to FXDWG to Simplicity Lawn Tractor to Miata. Thank God, I don't have a batter in either of the two snowblowers. I just plug them directly into the wall. LOL | ||

If you need the connector to hook up your Harbor Freight Float Charger go to Radio Shack and get the DC Accessory Connector.
