Nice weather is here and I think the X1 is ready. Heres the before pic when I got it in the just before winter hit. little by little I was taking things apart and fixing it up. First the ugly air cleaner had to go (that was a big twin clutch cover on there ,LOL), then alot of the alum bits got to visit the buffing wheel. A big chore was the "un" denting of the kooks header which I think came out pretty good. Then it was time to get rid of that really cool (NOT) flat black paint job. This was nothing more than a one day spray job w/ rattle cans and grocery bags for the marbalized effect. Total paint job......$26.50 Of course I had to add some carbon fiber just because.... and new BUELL badges where also needed to match to the new look. That pegasus seat w/ the red piping never matched anything on my bike so I just redyed the entire seat black, and now even though it still crushes the twig and berries, at least it looks better. the old BUELL badge got the marbalized look and was relocated to the fly screen. See you on the ROAD!!! jeff |

The bike looks very nice. The paint job really looks nice, I can't believe you did that with rattle cans. |

Looks great. Nice work on the Kooks header. Did you polish the rear pulley or is that a cover? |

thanks guys, jim2, I tried to just repaint the black on the pulley but it went allsorts of bad. Soo, I just went nuts and stripped the paint then polished the aluminum. jeff |

I'm diggin' that paint job, the texture in the race stripes is neat! What kind of air cleaner are you using now? |

The Air cleaner is just a throw together from some stuff I had around. The element is from the Dellorto carbs I run on one of my cars and the rest is just a crappy alum backing plate w/ a pc of tinted lexan for a cover. jeff |
