Has anyone ever tried a reduced throw throttle? I would like to reduce the the amount of twist on my X1. If I want WOT, I have to take another grab in order to make it happen and that bothers the hell out of me! I would be interested in any mod to reduce the twist needed if only a small amount. A "half twist" would be too much for the street IMO...I would still like some control. (Message edited by todsho on April 12, 2012) |

A lot of the supersportsbike guys use a zip-tie on the throttle tube. They super glue it into the throttle cable channel? on the the throttle tube, Which makes it a larger diameter. Which in effect makes it travel less distance to achieve maximum throttle. This should work on a buell throttle tube also i think. |

X1 uses the same controls as the XBs and 1125s, so it should work. The same is true for all late tubers - I'm guessing 1999 or 2000 and newer? (Message edited by xl1200r on April 15, 2012) |

That's correct Mark. Major new model changes including current switch gear took place in 1999. (Certain later upgrades like the shifter took a few more years to come around). You can even use a late model Uly right hand switch pod to wire in your heated grips too, very handy. |

Yup - I actually have the heated grip kit that was on my 1125CR on my S3T - switch pod, grips and all. |

Well the X1 windscreen offers a surprising amount of wind protection on a 38 degree morning, especially compared to the M2 screen. That's what started the whole transformation of my bike. The Uly handguards don't look terrible with stock bars either. They look silly with the crossroads 7 degree bar though. |
