Nuts I just found this thread today but can give a good estimate of the starting mileage as I keep track of the days I ride to work,and the one Sunday ride the wife and I had this month..27721. Won`t be the most but not the least either. | ||

The good news is, I've been on the DRZ almost every day for the past 3 months. The bad news is, I live about 3 miles from everywhere I need to go on it. Was on an out of town parts run on the XT the other day when the rear tire decided to go flat. Hole in the middle of the tread about the size of a pencil eraser. I'd like to know where that came from.. | ||

I got to test ride it around the block last night. Three miles of country roads. Damn near hit a turkey buzzard, a hundred feet later the largest turtle I had ever seen in Tennessee was crossing the road on my side, then on the next to last straight stretch there were rabbits! At least ten of them met in the middle of the road, they scattered every direction.....even at me  ! Rabbits are not good for traction,  I found that out on my TT500 many years ago. The new rear tire seems to be doing fine. It wheelied easily at each take off. The new rear brakes worked fine too, broke them in good slowing for the critters! | ||

To those in our listening audience that do not understand the nuances of a dare; I suggest the following as a possible explanation of Vern's surprise that there is no prize package offered. You see, I am sure Vern knows full well the ways of the dare - and the more exclusive double dog dare. I submit there are mischievous elements at work here. In fact, Vern may be trying to trying to coax a Mason jar full of a clear, innocent looking, sweet smelling elixir into the contest - possibly in conjunction with an outrageous game of campfire jenga. Had to look back to see for sure when this ends. I've ridden every day that I can think of since Feb 22. Unfortunately, I rarely need to go far. School starts in the fall, though.. and I'm transferring to one 40 miles away. Maybe I'll have enough time to put on some major last minute mileage! Nobody be offended when the numbers are revealed and show that I put all my miles on the DRZ while the XT keeps a battery tender company. |
