I'm looking for a good home for my 2010 Buell XB9SX CityX. This one runs sooooo good. It has 4000 miles on the new motor. The original motor had to be replaced under factory warranty. Orange County Harley Davidson in California installed the new motor in December 2011 (2 weeks before the factory warranty expired). The odometer has 38,200 miles. I rode it a lot the first 2 years, but since the new motor was installed I only put 4000 miles on it in 5 months and now I am not able to ride it anymore due to health reasons. It's practically in showroom condition. When people see it they can't believe it has so many miles. My goal was to ride it over 100K miles and still have it in showroom condition. It's almost completely stock. I had the headers and muffler Jet Coated black (similar to powder coating). It keeps it looking new all the time. I think the headers look much better black. I also added a GPR Steering Stabilizer for better handling. It really helps. I also spent a lot of time adjusting the suspension. It's perfect for me. My riding weight is around 210 - 220 pounds depending if I have my backpack or not. I also painted the back of the windscreen black. Other than that, it's completely stock. I'd give it a 9 out of 10 for the condition. The only problem is I messed up the paint on the back of the windscreen. In the right light at the right angle you can see that the paint job is not too good. The other thing I would like to say is this motor is better than the original. I'm not just saying that because I'm selling it. It really is much better (but I think there was something wrong with the original motor). When I accelerate hard, it has a deep powerful sound with a good vibration that the other motor just didn't have. There is no stumbling, hesitating, or any pinging on hard acceleration like the original motor had. There is nothing you need to do other than the regular maintenance. I'm asking $6495.00. This bike looks very much like my Piglet. Too bad we didn't meet when i was out in California. I hope your health improves! Mine is ok for right now, but may have to sell my bike eventually anyway. Good luck! Here is my Piglet!  | ||

I've never heard it called a Piglet before. Yes they look very similar. I like the luggage. My health problem is my damn sensitive hearing. I can't take the noise from the new motor. I'm starting to get ringing in my ears after breaking in the new motor with tons of hard accelerations. I always wear good plugs. I rode 34K miles in 2 years with the original motor with no problems, but this new motor is causing me problems after the first month with the exact same original unmodified OEM muffler. I got new custom-made ear plugs and put extra padding inside the helmet next to my ears and I *think* it might be okay to ride. I rode it the last 3 days to work to test it out and it appears to be working. For now this bike is off the market unless I determine that I can't solve this noise/hearing problem, then I'll put it up for sale again. | ||

Just curious if you have tried a different helmet. I have two helmets, and the exhaust note is greatly amplified in one of them compared to the other, especially at certain rpms. Each helmet will have its own acoustic properties. Good luck! | ||

Yea maybe try another helmet, hell even the rest of the riding gear like your jacket can have a huge impact on noise. The bike is too awesome to sell! | ||

Thanks for the replies. I did get a new Shoei Quest helmet. It's supposed to be a quiet helmet. It fits nice, the quality is good, but the wind noise is about the same as my old Iicon helmet. It has no padding next to the ears, probably to allow room for headphones. I filled it up with soft padding and that helped. I noticed today while riding at 70mph that if I put my hand on the bottom of my helmet next to my neck below my ears, like I'm giving my neck a karate chop, it reduces the wind noise A LOT. I'm going to add some padding to fill in the gaps around my neck and that should really solve the problem. So far the new ear plugs help a lot for the engine noise but the wind noise is still bothering me. My ears are constantly ringing now, so I must have done some damage. At this point I just want to prevent it from getting any worse. I took it out for a ride today and MAN, that motor is SWEEEET. Instant smooth power, no stumbling, no flat spots, no pinging, no issues. It's just running perfect. I have 5000 miles so far on the new motor. That first motor was a total crap compared to this one. I never would have believed how different one stock motor can be compared to another stock motor. When I thought about selling it, I knew I would regret it later. As of now this bike is not for sale because I believe I've solved my noise/hearing problem. If anything changes I'll post a follow up notice. Thanks.  | ||

My fuel pump died within the first 3K, replaced under warranty, and now no problem. If I am not able to get a job by the end of the month, mine is going up for sale. 38K, with hard bags, rack (900 dollars worth) and old tank bag would be $6K firm. Will decide in a few weeks. Already saving up for a Beemer. | ||
