Allow me to present our very own Smilee. Some know our daughter Carlee, she is now our 2012 Miss Grifton and Miss Congeniality!

Our small town has the oldest running festival in eastern NC. We are in our 42nd year. We host a scholarship pageant each year. The girls compete in a poster contest and an essay contest. The contestants also vote for Miss Congeniality. The judges score each contestant in a personal interview, personal choice outfit, formal wear and on-stage question. It's not a big pageant, but they girls have fun and learn something about themselves.

We are so very proud of her!!

She hopes to go to Meredith College in Raleigh. Carlos and I are hoping that she'll get more than this $500 scholarship from somewhere! She wants to study Graphic Design with a minor in Photography.

So, I am thinking of camping by Lake Jordan Saturday night the 26th and Sunday night the 27th of May (Memorial Day Weekend).

It would be a six person camping spot and then all day Sunday people can stop by, eat, burn some sh*t, and crash out if you want to drink.

It will only cost around 40 for two nights, but I have to grab a spot by the water before they are gone. I will ask 5 bucks per person who wants to share a spot or nothing if you just come in for a day.

I am sure there is a beach nearby there if anyone wants to go for a swim too!

I have another happy announcement....Carlos took his last final exam this past weekend! He is now a graduate of East Carolina University!!! WooHoo!!! I'm so very proud of him!!
