I sold my 06 Uly with over 56,000 miles on it about a month ago. Rebuilt the motor around 53,000 due to a crank bearing begining to fail (confirmed on teardown). Bike ran good prior to the rebuild and even better after! Sold it because as cool a bike as it was, it just wasn't me. |

My '06 Uly S/N 044 had 55,000 miles at deer strike. Up to that time it was solid except for rear spark plug blowout. Always wanted to reach 100K miles but... My '06 Uly S/N 564 has 35,000 miles and is now mainly my commuter bike, but has run great so far. This one will prolly never get the opportunity to go 100K miles. --Doc |

Tom- Why don't you buy my 06. It's the one I was going to run the ALCAN with. It still has a warranty until July. |

Too bad considering our dedication to the brand that we can't get specifics on the bad batch, but then they may feel obligated to fix their wrong. "Based on data here, there is a higher-than-normal tendency for 2007 Ulys to eat their connecting rod bearings. My 2007 Uly suffered this failure at ~30k miles" |

My '07 is under going the '08 crank change right now. Just put on #2 cylinder tonight. |

So, Paint Shaker, your crank went and it's an 06 bike. Thought the general consensus on here was that 2006 Ulys didn't get crank failures!! |

The 07's have a bad batch of cranks, nobody said that 06's can't have a crank failure, but the weak bottom end is fairly common on raced XB and tubers, part of the reason for them beefing it up in 08. |

I concur as to finding an 08' for less than 7K, I listed mine here and Craigslist last year for $6,000, 15,xxx miles and never received a sniff. 2008 Uly Black I'm currently debating on trying to sell it again. Love the bike, don't have the time. |

Mayerhd - a guy on ADV rider (NC) is considering 06' - you might want to 'ping' him if you're serious about selling 08'. |

Thanks for that, Froggy. I certainly haven't raced mine. Rarely get above 4000 rpm!! |

Thanks for that, Froggy. I certainly haven't raced mine. Rarely get above 4000 rpm!! You are missing the best part of these bikes!! They don't even begin to pull until 4,000 or beter! Yes... I had one of the few 06s that had the crank issue. |
