Well, I $%^&ed up. Reversed the jumper cables and fried something. Bringing it to the stealership tomorrow to see how bad ($$$) the damage is. I guess the DR 650 will be happy that it's getting more attention. Who has done this already and is there a possibility of fixing it my self? After replacing the key fuse and checking the others, the key fuse burns out every time I turn the key on. I've read somewhere that all that should be bad is the relay. Any input? Thanks |

Relays are easy to confirm because they are all the same in your fuse box. Just swap them. |

Check the fuses first. |

And if you jump a bike, MAKE SURE THE AUTOMOBILE IS NOT RUNNING. Auto alternators are too "hot", power-wise. Just the auto's battery will have enough kick to jump a motorcycle. |

Got it running, though it seems only one cylinder is firing right. Low power and chugging like my DR 650 single. Had to ride it home from my storage place. Top speed was 50 MPH, didn't want to push it. Thanks again for the idea of taking the Aux relay. |

Got it running, though it seems only one cylinder is firing right I know this may sound dumb, but just give it a try! Remove your spark plug wires to make sure one of them hasn't melted a spot through the rubber and is shorting out on the motor. That happened to mine and damn near drove me nuts trying to find the problem just prior to the 2010 Buell Homecoming. I actually discovered it by accident when I was trying to put the plug wire back on the spark plug, the other end popped off and then I could see the problem. give it a try, won't take long to discover and can't hurt trying. |

I pulled both plugs. The rear one was fouled up. Cleaned it up and put it back in. Works fine now. I'll replace both the plugs this week before riding it again. |

I once worked with a guy who mixed up Lts with Gals on an oil change on his car. He said he thought he may might have a problem after the engine "exploded" oil on him on starting. I once worked with a guy who used an oil filter from a Mazda car because it looked/fitted the same as his OEM Suzy bike one. It was not and it trashed the engine. I once worked with a guy who did not check the condition of the bike he went to test ride. Broken leg, punctured lung, skin grafts, 10,000GBP bill for the bike and a two year ticket ban. Dont worry to much on it. |

Yes Uly Man, I faulted by not making sure my bike was 100% before riding. All safety equipment worked fine, I just traveled at a less than brisk rate going home. I did not take an Autobahn, even though that was the shortest route home. |
