2 for 2 on mechanicals this season. Not quite as durable as last year or just bad luck. Daytona is weird place anyway compared to the other tracks. |

Actually it's 3 for 3 mechanical failures, you forgot Higbee. |

Nobody is going to win an AMA superbike race leaving margin in the machines. EBR will find it, fix it, and kick ass. |

The fact that one machine broke the first day and the other broke the second would seem to indicate they have a VERY good idea of where the limit on that engine is now, and hopefully they can adjust tuning to suit. |

Nice having a race next week. They tested pretty good at Homestead. EBR is actually 2-4 not 3-3. |

is actually 2-4 not 3-3. Yeah, that's how I score it, or maybe 2-5. Higbee is strictly a private effort. 6th and 9th, not too bad for a track that doesn't suit the twins is not too bad. Would have been nice to have had both bike finish in the top 10 but not too shabby. |

May held top 10 almost all race. Half way through last lap something happened. Good race IMO |

I understand that Higbee isn't part of the ebr team, but he's on the 1190rs, and had the same failure May did. |

Same failure as May? I know Higbee tore engine down before they understood what had failed. I don't see how May could have pulled the engine or bothered to bore-scope it. Both broke something metallic, yes. |

You don't even know what Mays failure was, do you? Either way I hope they can get some good testing in at Homestead, for next race at Atlanta. I like to be be optimistic thogh,if they did have the same failure (which is not known) they only have one problem to fix , not two. |

OK, just watched the race and race two was a massive WIN for EBR. Got a few seconds of race coverage and some chatter about EBR, always good but then the home run, the out shot to a commercial after that bit, late in a very good race, feature a shot of the back of an EBR mechanic with Amsoil and Hero filling the screen for 10 seconds! That is priceless to a sponsor! Way to go EBR. Huge plus for the program. |

Higbee had an exhaust valve issue. Danny was overeard saying he thought he dropped a valve. No word on what happened to May. I did hear May explain he was really had to keep the motor revs high to hang with the I4s at Daytona. He also mentioned some other stuff, but I ain't gonna repeat it. All I have to say is it is going to be VERY interesting this season!!! |

With the extended periods of WOT Daytona is an engine killer. If an engine has any weakness it is more likely to show up at Daytona than other tracks so hopefully this will not be a re-occuring problem. On another note, it is good to see Jake Holden doing so well. He rides the ESP/Iron Horse BMW S1000rr. ESP is a local moto shop here in Tucson and Iron Horse is the local BMW dealer. This is basically a privateer team with no factory support working with a very small budget, so for Jake to finish in the top 10 in both races and finish the weekend in 6th overall is fantastic. |

I agree with you on Jake and ESP. I saw the video on AMApro about Evan Steel and the efforts they are putting together to field a team. Grassroots and really nice people. Go Jake.. Go ESP! A team with a heart! Talking about a team with a heart! Lathus and DiSalvo. What a comeback! I thought the 200 was very exciting to watch! And Speed did a good job bringing out the story behind the teams - such as Joey's grandfather benefiting from March of Dimes to get walking gear. Great stuff! |

"Talking about a team with a heart! Lathus and DiSalvo. What a comeback! I thought the 200 was very exciting to watch!" Right on Asbjorn. I love rooting for any the twins and that was one of the best races and greatest finishes I have seen. |

I was wrong, was thinking DiSalvo was on the 848 Duc but even more exciting is Triumph's return to being highly competitive. Anything but IL4's. No spirit in them but still a great finish. (Message edited by Bob_thompson on March 18, 2012) |
