Not all Harley dealers carried Buell back in the day. Are these non-Buell dealers required to order Buell parts if asked? Holstein Harley here in Omaha, NE carried the Blast for a couple of years and then bailed. They are within a mile of my home and certainly would be easier to order from than Dillion Brothers Harley/Buell which is about a 1/2 hour drive or ride. I don't think a non-Buell dealer is *allowed* to order Buell parts... |

Indeed, non-Buell dealers cannot order Buell parts directly from HD. They could relay through another dealer though. Some HD dealers which WERE Buell dealers have since "dropped" Buell and no longer have direct order parts access either. Dealers with Rider's Edge programs still use the Blast as their training bike but are restricted to only Blast parts orders. |

Do the blasts share any parts with the other Buells? Turn signals, levers? This could be useful in a pinch |

That is correct. There was a dealer in Salt Lake City that dropped Buell a few weeks before d-day happened, despite being a dealer for years they aren't able to get parts or provide warranty work anymore. |

I'd say 70% of the Blast is parts that are shared with other models. Hell the motor is practically half a XB9. |

Depending on shipping cost; probably best to order from American Sport Bike. |

Not being able to order parts from a non-Buell dealer H-D Dealer is a thing of the past. Just go in and ask, if they are asstards just walk out and do something else. I was able to order electrical connector pins last fall from a never been a Buell dealer H-D dealer, in fact they were eager to get the parts for me? Go figure, Not a Buell dealer when Buell American was up and running and their answer was don't bother coming in the door. Now that Buell American is shut down they will order anything you want? |
