The stock Blast wheels have so many contours, it makes them a pain to clean. Has anyone come up with a labor saving idea to clean those darn things? I don't mean a chemical necessarily, but a method or a particular brush or other tool. |

A wheel scrub brush helps. Or a dust broom with plastic stiff fibers is big enough to save time, yet will get into the hard to reach places. ...and a good chemical cleaner! Taking them off also makes them a lot easier to clean. That doesnt save much time, but it does make for a much better job (dont forget to tape over the axle holes and bearings or you'll loose your bearings quickly). |

Diluted Simple Green works okay for me. That and an old toothbrush. |

... then polish the shiny rim edge with "Mother's" metal polish or similar stuff. |

Have you used Mothers or similar stuff? I was under the impression the wheels were clearcoated and metal polish wouldnt work (unless you stripped the clear coat off first). |

Only "coating" on my wheels is dirt, grease, & crud. I use Simple Green pretty strong to clean the whole bike ... rinse thoroughly with soft water and blow dry with a leaf blower. If you get tired of cleaning and polishing your wheels do what Goldwingers do and coat them with this ... http://www.everbritecoatings.com/cart/index.php?ma in_page=product_info&cPath=13&products_id=5 WORKS GREAT to protect any metal. |
