Well, last I rode the bike was about a year and a half ago and 100# additional weight.... so after loosing this extra weight I am now at #184 and started riding again, after changing fluids and adjusting suspension to my new weight. It is an 06 Uly . WHAT A BLAST! it was rather amazing and am looking forward to some incredible rides. Where as in the past I could not get better than 40 mpg I now got better then 48mpg and the bike really wants to raise the front wheel into the sky in celebrating the lightened load... feels great. I will need to replace a whole bunch of XXL riding gear with med/large so in the near future I will go thru my old stuff and put it up for sale. Just felt like sharing... Ishai |

Uh yeah. Froggy = 62 pounds, and thinner than the edge of a cardboard cut out of himself = MPG. Congratulations on the weight loss! Lots of things are better after a substantial weight loss. I have done it a few times. I seem to have been going the wrong way this past couple of years. Not good. Even at 250lbs I get 49 to 50 mpg on my '06. If I got down to 195 (where I would like to be) I could probably get back to 55 mpg! We did a weight loss thread a while back and I was doing well until shit happened and then I became ill for a while. Now I feel like Jabba the Hut(sp). Your suspension settings will be different for sure. |

Ishai think of the 2007 springs is a great up grade, the fork wont go down so much as with the 06 springs, less linear more progressive. |

Holy Crap, Ishai!! Good for you! (hopefully it's a healthy loss, and not anything like the weight loss program I had in '08) Froggy - I've been saying for years you get great mileage because you weigh less than my Shoei... And I do have to agree with the 07 springs. I never had a "problem" with my forks, but when it was fork service time I went ahead and spent the $18 or whatever it was on springs and had them tossed in while the front end was apart. Wow. big difference, VERY nice upgrade. |

I didn't realize the springs changed from 06 to 07, but that explains a lot. I test rode an 06 and liked the bike, but not the suspension (I was on a 9sx at the time, so I was used to splitting dimes blindfolded). A couple years later, I decided to get a Uly anyway, and ended up with an 07. When I rode the 07, I remember thinking "its not as precise as the 9sx, but its not nearly as bad as I remember". |

My wife read a book called " The 4 hour body" and went on the diet proscribed in this catalogue of a book. After 3 weeks on it the weight flew off. She thinned right up to her natural hotness at around 118 to 122 lbs. She has been on this diet for quite a few months now just to maintain and probably only 85% of the time. She rarely complains about feeling hungry. I sure like the results, va va va voom. http://chadchandler.com/100-days-4-hour-body/ |

Thanks everybody. Yes it was intentional and the benefits are huge healthwise. Feel at least 20 years younger- no joke. Great suggestion about the 07 springs- will do at my next suspension service. Ishai |

100 pounds? Wow! Good for you! I wish I could lose 40. I just started working out at Snap Fitness. I have been there one time so far and have to admit I felt better when I left. Maybe I'll do the same next month...... |
