For barkbusters... these bolted up with a minimum of fuss... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004BOXKN0/ref=oh _o05_s00_i00_details They have to point forward, while the actual levers point a bit down, but it works well in the comfortable position for the levers. You could trim the levers as well (not a bad idea)... For what that's worth.... |

Reepicheep, thanks for that. A very timely mention as I became aware how useless the stock guards are as 90 minutes ago I came off on soft sand. Obviously no damage but the bar 'protector' was forced out of place and, if this had been hard ground, I'd have broken the brake lever. Uly man, I know what you mean. I feel the Buell is special and I really want to go on it. I'm no mechanic though. I can do the basics so I'm going to buy the workshop manual and practise. It isn't rocket science. |

You can see how I had to line up the bark busters straight forward, but the levers point down. Not breaking levers is one good feature of them... being able to smack a chunk of wood thrown from the road without loosing a finger, or being able to cling to the bars in a lowside to protect my hands, are other benefits I welcome. I got the "mitts" at the same time. They work ***great***, and will come off in seconds and pack flat in a side bag. (Message edited by reepicheep on March 08, 2012) |

Your bike looks yellow and not the barricade orange we had in UK or is that a trick of the light? |

It's orange, but the IPhone camera totally butchered the color balance. (But don't bring it up, or Froggy will go off on another Apple rant... ) |

They did make some yellow ones. Dave Barr has one. |

Orange is the better colour anyway. |
