I was thinking about Ceramic Coating the OEM muffler on my 1125R. Has anyone in here done this? How much did this cost? Does the finish hold up to the muffler heat, especially near the header collector? Know anybody in Orange County, CA who does a good job on Ceramic coating mufflers/exhaust? Thanks all |

If there is access, shops ceramic-coat the inside as well as the outside. I had the custom rig I made for my XB coated black. The whole system is stainless, but the ceramic reduces radiant heat by about 30%. So far as withstanding heat, the black type has a much higher melt point (2000F) than the metal it covers. The silver goes to 1200f.

About a year ago I used high temp header paint on the OEM muffler. Didn't turn out too bad. Still holding up! |

Here's mine. Ceramic coated outside only. They didn't mask it the way I wanted when it was bead blasted so I had to buff out the stainless bit on the front.
I then made and installed these.

Not really. Got it paired with the Firebolt and it's RF900 stablemates. It's all stock anyway except that little bit with the exhaust. Although here's a pic of red bike wash day. Black bike wash day was the next.

Dropped off the can for the Ceramic Coating. Two weeks before I get it back. I can't wait! |
