I was out riding my bike when all of a sudden the tach dropped all the way to right at 1000 rpm and then jumped back up to about 6000 where the engine speed actually was. Any ideas? |

Check your grounds. There are a few up in the front that could cause all sorts of trouble if they're loose. |

i'd check all the connectors you can find. pull them apart, check for corosion or possible pins that might not be fully seated. i'd also use electrical contact cleaner (let it fully dry) and use electrical contact grease when putting them back together. |

Ok now the engine is pulling like I have bad fuel. It has a jerking feel to it and the battery light has come on. Voltage is still strong however. Could a loose wire be causing all of this too? |
