If you have experience with the barker exhaust; how much louder is it than stock? Where do you notice the most improvement in performance? Looking at performance options. I really don't want to go louder than stock, but the "exhaust shootout" on americansportbike makes it look like the Barker is worth a little bit of extra noise. Opinions? |

The exhaust sounds great. Spend the extra 20 bucks for the quiet core. As a side note, budget a race ecm. I bought the exhaust, but didn't get the ecm. Now I'm waiting to buy that. Some people say you can run the bike with the stock ecm, but in my bike stall at lights etc. Buy the exhaust, and order the ECM |

I love my barkers, I have the ecm aswell, its pretty loud but not as loud as my mrs's 1125r with the EBR race exhaust. Has quite a bit of low end torque/power than hers with the EBR exhaust, hers is a bit smoother all the way through, dare i say it sometimes she'll beat me in a drag off the line but only because I can't keep the front wheel on the ground. Barkers is the best value for money IMO, I also bought an extra repacking pillow so when it needs doing I don't have to pay for extra freight as I'm in Australia. Scott |

I have a Barkers exhaust. It sits in my garage off the bike. The thing is L O U D. I mean REALLY L O U D. Performance gains were awesome. There is definitely more power on tap, just about everywhere in the rev range. The front wheel on my CR did not like to stay on the pavement coming out of turns with the exhaust on. Weight savings are impressive also. I have all 3 quiet cores that were available for it. The only one that brought it remotely close to acceptable was the 1". However, this also hindered the power increase A LOT. Willing to sell it: $300 w/ all 3 quiet cores. Fresh repack ~2k miles ago. PM if you are interested. ac |

I got a barker on my bike and I will NEVER go back to stock. It is louder, but the sound is just amazing, kind of like a nice set of pipes on a hog compared to the honda goldwing stock pipe sound of the stock on them. I agree with all these guys on budget in a race ECM for the pipe as well. it's more evened out down low and pulls like a freight train in the upper RPMs. |

A Barker as quiet as stock, forget about it. You could buy some earplugs. |

Ear plugs works for the rider...but not the neighbors and the cops. |

Here is a video on a sound comparison; I decided to go with the Barkers due to the price and performance. I like the louder than stock sound and I did notice an increase in power. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKrIid3ugKg |

I have the Barker and EBR ECM with quiet core 1". The cops dont bother me with the quiet core I took the quiet core out and it bothered me in about 1 1/2 hrs. How much packing is in the Barker when new I dont know but it can have a big effect on the loudness. I love it sounds good its loud when I get on the gas hard. |

I have the Barker and the EBR ECM for it. It is LOUD and it reverberates in my helmet. I had the least-restrictive quiet core installed for a while and it didn't seem to have a noticeable effect on sound, and it must have made the helmet reverberation worse, because after I removed the QC, the reverberation got a bit less intrusive. But, from what I understand, practically all 1125 aftermarket exhausts are loud and at least somewhat prone to helmet reverberation. At the moment I have the stock ECM on my '08 with the Barker exhaust. (I switched it back when taking the bike in for warranty service and haven't changed it back.) The stock ECM rides surprisingly well with the Barker. Low RPM smoothness is GREAT (it's not Goldwing smooth, but it's a good bit smoother than what one might expect from a large displacement, non-inherently-balanced v-twin) although it's a little herky-jery in the 3500-5000rpm range. I'll try to do a back-to-back ride when I switch back to the EB R ECM. In short, if you want to try the Barker without the ECM, you'll probably be just fine. |

My CR has the EBR ecm with a Barker that has no packing-pillow in it and the smallest quiet core. I like it, but then again My 96S1 has a welded up D&D megaphone and a Mikuni. |

I am very glad Danny doesn't live anywhere near me. I wouldn't want to hear him rip by on either of those. |

I put the 1" quiet core in mine down a bit on power but not really noticable and way quiter than the 1 1/2" |

I have the Barker exhaust fitted to the 1125r..it is definitely much louder than stock. I got the 1 inch quiet core and it is more in line with the stock sound but still slightly louder. I also ordered the EBR ecm and can not believe the difference in the bike..more power, no low rev jerkiness in throttle..the bike loves it and so do I...if you are looking to get a Barkers exhaust, order the 1 inch quiet core and the EBR ecm. The core takes about 1 minute to install so you can change it in and out so easily. |

I have the Barkers without a quiet core and enjoy the decibel level a lot. I also have two Harleys so the Barkers doesn't seem loud to me at all but it is definitely louder than an RT-1. For me, the Barkers is just about the right level to be heard by cars but it is definitely quiet enough for cops where I live, near Chicago. It is also very light, if that matters to you. I've run it on the EBR "generic-exhaust" ECM, the EBR Barker-specific ECM, and a stock ECM. I thought it ran fine on all three but does seem slightly louder on the stock ECM for some reason, perhaps because the ECM is new and the fuel-trim hasn't adjusted yet. I just installed my barker's. I bought it off avc8130. ( thanks av). I went for a spin around the corner and when i came back my ears where still trying to recover from the orgasm they were having. It's not the prettiest exhaust I have seen but wow I really wanted to keep riding. Simply amazing sound. I felt like I was riding a tiger the thing just growls and the weight it takes off is very noticeable, felt some power gain too. I'm waiting on my ebr ecm that got reflashed for the barker's I can't wait. It is loud but I don't find it obnoxious. Kinda like a borla on a corvette. I Highly recommend. |
