I wouldn't let go of my copy for that price. (I might let go of my second copy for $3999 though... and use the money to "save a tuber".) |

I actually saw one sold on E-bay for $80 bucks. I bet that is more likely the going price. |

The "good news" is that I know that the future generations of Buell owners and "studiers" will be able to research this. In the top box is everything from my first letters to querying 3 different publishers about interest. This includes the rejection from 2 and the response from Whitehorse indicating their lack of interest . . . since, in order to pull off a really quality project . . .it'd have to be done by someone who actually knew Erik Buell and has personal knowledge of some of the history. My next letter was to Dave Gess . . . . "what ya doing for the next 18 months?. He and I'd talked about this in the past and it was a natural marriage. Like my wife, Dave is smarter than I, more focused and a lot nicer person. . . toss in dangerously smart and the deal was made. The bottom box is the last full unopened case of 25 Years of Buell. By the way . . . . and if you are compelled to start the "Made in USA" discussion, take it to the Quick Board, for any of you who are interested in seeing the fabulous facilities where the books were actually printed. Pretty amazing stuff. http://www.midasprinting.com/index.htm |

Court, I refuse to acknowledge any sort of marriage to you I was a very fun project to do. I am dying to write another book but it needs to be on a MC related technical topic and I am unsure of what topic and if I have the expertise to pull it off. |

Well I think it's worth every penny. It is an amazing book, with an amazing story, and some excellent photography to boot. It turned out to be a very well-done project, and I suspect there will be plenty of "future generations" using it as one of the main resources for research concerning Buell. I'm just lucky to have my "reader" copy that I can lend out to folks who wonder why I'm so goofy about these motorcycles...and the other copy that three guys scribbled all over. Looks like one guy is named "Eric" somethingorother... |

Wow! I bought a copy for half price in Dec '09 for $15 at Deeleys HD/Buell in Vancouver. It still sits on my coffee table. A great read, well done guys. |

I have an autographed copy sitting in the readin (bath) room. Probably not in the most collectable condition as I look through it all the time while in said room. But a really great book. |

I bought a half dozen when they first came out. Awesome gifts. Still have one - a "reader" and another - collector piece. Might start cruising for autographs at Homecoming this year. |

Sure . . $4,000 sounds like a lot . . . but it's over $25 so you pay no shipping and it's not like you're gonna buy 2 or 3. :-) |

Man if I only knew then... I'd have bought as many traction grips and copies of 25yrs as I could get my hands on. Sadly I don't have the grips anymore but I still have my book. And I won't ever let it go. Because of that book I know the name of the guy who welded my S2's frame.... How many production bike owners actually know who built their frame? |
